New to the area and craving a hearty salad we found Ragtime Cafe to be a great spot. The restaurant was packed but we snagged two seats at the bar. I enjoyed the blackened shrimp and avocado salad with Cajun dressing and my husband tried the Buffalo chicken Caesar salad. The portions were generous and delicious. The friendly bartender made us feel welcome. Such a great local spot.

Food was good but very expensive. Service was good but it felt like our waitress needed more help. Finally, it was to loud to carry on a conversation, so bring your phones and have one over text or email.

Knowing we would be getting to Birmingham about lunchtime while heading north on I65, we checked out convenient restaurants and chose to stop at Ragtime Cafe. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The food was very tasty (burger, turkey sandwich, tater tots - lots and lots of tater tots!), there was a good beer selection, and service was quick and friendly.

Great food! I wish they were available on DOORDASH and I’d order from them all the time. Chownow (the only site that comes up for delivery for Ragtime) is out of my delivery zone and I’m off of Highway 280 in Hoover.
