I did not stay here but had dinner twice in the restaurant. Service was very slow the first time and the young lady server didn't care that my hamburger was very very salty. She never returned to refill water, etc. and took forever to bring my check.The second night I ordered salmon, sweet potato and some veggies. I was totally shocked when I saw my meal! The piece of salmon was very small and was sitting in a small pool of sweet potato puree with a few very small pieces of vegetables. That was it! The price was outrageous for this small amount of food and I was still hungry after eating. I ordered what I thought was going to be cheesecake and was brought a small cup of cheesecake flavored something layered with fruit, I believe. Another over priced item. The only reason I ate there was because the restaurant in my hotel down the street was not open those two nights and I was not familiar with the city. Walking around there alone at night was kind of sketchy also.

Rooms were okay, but one of our showers had no hot water (and it was cold outside). Both rooms came with irons and both were broken/spewed discolored water everywhere. The front desk staff was terribly slow and honestly seemed annoyed with just about everyone. Our rooms were inexplicably stocked with solely decaf coffee and the downstairs Starbucks and restaurant were severely understaffed - it took over an hour and a half to get our breakfast. I watched patrons walk out completely ignored by staff. Its sad because its a lovely hotel, but clearly mismanaged.

Extremely long check in process due to the key card machine not working. The woman at the front desk was very slow moving and pretty delirious and later mentioned she had worked since 7am (it was 8:15pm). I had to be escorted to my room to have it unlocked and was taken to the wrong room where we walked in on another guest. After being put in another room, I was eager to finally settle in, the bedside lamp was broken, so I had to switch it out with the other lamp in the room. I turned on the shower and waited almost 10 minutes and the water never got hot. I was about to call the front desk, but the phone wasn’t working, so I had to walk down to the lobby in my pajamas. Additionally the wifi signal was very low. Thankfully they comped my room and upgraded me. I will not be returning.

Excellent hotel experience. Came here on business earlier this week. Updated rooms, easy check-in service, convenient valet service. Walkable to many areas in downtown Birmingham, including corporate HQ. Nothing bad to report, room was clean, stocked, etc. The view was nice, too.

My fiancé, my daughter and I spent the most wonderful, relaxing weekend in this very lovely, beautiful and romantic hotel.Every thing was topnotch from the service we received upon check-in to our room accomadations, to include dinner and drinks in the hotel restaurant. We felt completely pampered and so at ease during our stay, it was truly a relaxing experience in beautiful surroundings. We will most certainly be back, as this historic hotel is very near and dear to our hearts, as this is where my fiancé asked for my hand in marriage (and I said "yes!"). Thank you, Redmont, for making our engagement weekend one of my most cherished and loveliest of memories!

DO NOT STAY HERE. I used to stay at the hotel a while back during my monthly trips to Birmingham. The other Hilton I wanted was booked, so I ended up here.There is no hot water in the hotel. I moved rooms on my first night of three. The third night I had to move again. And that room had no hot water. This is ridiculous.Customer service is not up to par….People pretend like they are doing something but after three calls to the front desk, water is still ice cold.Rooms: Not enough light. Cold water in shower and from the faucet.
