I just read the sad news that Rib-It-Up has closed and my heart is broken. Debbie Kellogg,, Do you remember when you brought Rib-It-Up barbecue to that BioCryst picnic in 1992? That was the first time I was willing to get my hands dirty with barbecue and through the years, Larry and I have picked up our typical 5 pounds of outside to take home and freeze, having just done this a few weeks ago. We had a sweet relationship with the friends there and they became our friends, so much so that they always saw Larry's phone number and answered "Hey, Mr. First! Want your five pounds outside again?"
We will miss them terribly... the best barbecue ever cooked.

I got the RibTip plate with potatoe salad and Mac and cheese with crackling cornbread muffin. When I tell u, the meat melts in your mouth, and the flavor is all there. The drive was well worth it. And the candy yams are excellent, so don't forget to try them.

The line/wait in the drive thru was unreasonably long. There were 3 cars ahead of us and we were before the lunchtime rush (11-ish). The BBQ ribs and baked beans were good. And Pulled/chopped pork sandwich was fine. Pricing was competitive. Food was Average for a BBQ joint but the wait made it below average.

I had a large rib sandwich very good sandwich, all though I wish it had more sauce! Overall, it was a very good sandwich. I also had the bannas pudding, and I will be returning to get more of this dessert. It was delicious!

I mostly get the cheeseburger combo, which is really good. The only knock, like with most places now, fries are not salted. Otherwise, food and service is top notch.

Nothing special about the food. Placed my order at 1:51pm on a Thursday. Was still waiting for my food at 2:40. There is no dining in option. You are forced to wait out in the hot parking lot. Can't recommend this place unless you don't have any other options.

I work 60 hours a week managing a Dollar general store, meanwhile her new boyfriend Doug works next door at Perry hardware, part-time. I bring so much more to the table than he does.
