Restaurant was closed until further notice. We had our nye reservation and were not informed of the closure. Terribly disappointing. Very unprofessional.

Roots and Revery is Closed. We showed up for our reservation and no one was there. The Restaurant had been closed for a couple of months.

The restaurant is no longer open. We should not have been able to make a “secured” reservation or waste our time driving to the location.

Stefanie

The restaurant had a sign on the door when we arrived saying they were closed. Why did they still have reservations available on the website?

Alice

Sad to say that the restaurant was not open due to death of the owner. We found out when we arrived in a neighboring business said they have been closed for over two weeks. Wish they had updated their system to not take reservations and do not send reminders we do look forward to dining there in the future, but they need to correct this issue.

Location is permanently closed but there was no notice from either the locations website or Open Table. Showed up for our confirmed reservation to a closed restaurant.

This restaurant is permanently closed. We made reservations on OpenTable, and when we got to the restaurant, there was a note on the door saying that due to circumstances beyond their control, the restaurant was permanently closed. If you have made reservations, do not go. It appears open table has not removed them from their app.

The restaraunt is permanently closed due to the death of chef/owner. We found this out upon arrival. You need to update the site.

Charged $120 reservation fee with Restaurant being closed evidently for weeks with no notification. Open Table, take this down so this Restaurant can recover if they decide to reopen after a horrific event of the owner dying.

Second time my friends and I have been here for brunch and it has been great both times. Chicken and Waffles were delicious as was the West Indies Salad Avocado Toast. Beautiful decor and very friendly service!

We had brunch here for my friend’s birthday & we were very disappointed. The food was poorly executed, not seasoned, did not taste fresh & was all around not worth the cost. The cocktails were good but the menu doesn’t accurately portray the cost of them, because they added sales tax (understandable) plus a separate liquor tax that raised the price of each drink by several dollars. We were a party of 5, which is not a large party, but a large party gratuity was automatically added as well. Our waiter was wonderful as were the hostesses.

I had my 50th birthday brunch at ROOTS & REVELRY today. The food was very good and the service was amazing!! Our hostesses were so sweet. They went above and beyond for me and my guest. We had a blast! I highly recommend and I will be dining there again.

Best brunch in Birmingham! We had a party of 10 and they easily accommodated us. Everyone’s food + service was 10/10. You can’t find food this good for brunch anywhere else in Birmingham. My 72 year old dad said “whoever is running that kitchen knows what they’re doing”. Looking forward to heading back for dinner sometime soon!

We had our first experience at Roots&Revelry last night and it was wonderful from start to finish. The cocktails made by Zachary were amazing and Amber’s service was excellent. We had the Flounder Roulade and Beef Confit pasta and finished with the local peach bread budding. We loved the unique Caesar dressing and the arancini was great. We will definitely be back.

This place was recommended by the manager at my hotel. She gave it such great reviews I had no choice but to try it. I must say it did not disappoint at all. The first thing that popped out was the braised rabbit omelette; it was cooked to perfection with full flavor. The R&R omelette gives you a nice take on a traditional omelette but not your basic everyday style. The steak omelette was a weekend menu item packed full of flavor, perfectly cooked mushrooms and sautéed onions, and the steak was juicy to say the least. I added crab to my shrimp and grits to give it a bit of a twist. There was some sort of red creole sauce on top that really helped all the flavors gel; another dish that did not disappoint. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and attentive and I hate it was raining because I would’ve enjoyed the balcony and city views. The chef even came out to speak to our table personally which spoke volumes. I highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back soon to enjoy more of their menu! If you haven’t tried this place yet go ahead and make your reservation; you won’t be disappointed. (Restaurant parking in the rear of the building on 16th St N)

Parking: The parking lot is located behind the building to the left; it’s surrounded by a black fence on 16th St N
