Ruth’s Chris – Steakhouse Excellence Reaffirmed
After a long break from Ruth’s Chris, I found myself at their Birmingham location on Woodcrest Place, and now I’m wondering why I ever waited so long. I had the petit filet cooked medium, and it was absolutely flawless — tender, juicy, and bursting with that signature Ruth’s Chris sizzle that hits the table like a round of applause.
I paired it with the lobster mac and cheese, which was rich, creamy, and loaded with flavor — a decadent side that’s worth every bite. I also had a baked potato done the classic steakhouse way and wrapped things up with a crème brûlée that was smooth, perfectly caramelized on top, and a perfect finish to the meal.
Every single item was cooked to perfection, and the service was outstanding — attentive without being overbearing, professional, and genuinely friendly.
It had been a while since I last dined at a Ruth’s Chris, and this visit reminded me why they’re still at the top of the game. Everything was perfect. From the food to the atmosphere, it was a true dining experience — the kind that makes you slow down, savor every bite, and enjoy the moment.

Matt Laney and Alex were the best. Laney always makes my experience great and Alex was the most attentive and professional anticipating all of our needs. Very courteous. Lanry was able to tell each of the 14 ingredients in the chopped salad. Alex was awesome!!!! Matt was very professional.

I am a bar customer mostly eating there also. Food is always good especially steaks of course and crab cakes. I come from Pelham if Ruth is there at the bar. Her service is the best, always top of the line and quick to respond. I wouldn't be there is not for her.

It was Good 🫶🏽
The bar at Ruth Chris is my go to spot at least twice a week for happy hour. Ruth the bartender is AMAZING and so are her pours.
We had a wonderful meal although the service was very much lacking
The restaurant had no more than 20 people on a weekday night. The music was way too loud. The restaurant is for the most part empty and it's 630pm and they seat us between 2 other groups. For the price it was not worth it.

Tonight we ate there. We have gone for 20 years or so. The steaks were not cooked as we requested. The drinks were very slow. The service was average as well. Probably our last trip. Expected much more for a $200 meal.
