Wayne is a Homewood mainstay. If you want a family run place with good home cooked food and a great atmosphere then this is your spot. Get the Philly with half fries half onion rings and you will leave happy.

Small mom and pop type restaurant. We went during breakfast. We had a great experience! The service and food were great! It’s also in a great area for walking and shopping. I had half a trash can. My wife had a ham and cheese omelette. Both were delicious. I want to go back during lunch and try a Philly cheesesteak! Definitely worth trying!

My wife and I breakfast here and it’s such a fun place. Reminds me of a restaurant I used to visit as a kid. Food was excellent, service was great. It’s a smaller place so plan accordingly.

Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a very small location, might be a few spots a wheelchair could fit.

Old time, long time locally owned diner. Small place where everyone seems to know everyone, lots of regular locals.

Love these small town diner’s. Food was excellent, right off the grill behind the counter. Place had a great small town, local owner vibe. I would eat here all the time if we lived here. We’ll be back. Highest recommendation possible.

Awesome classic diner, great staff that care about what they do. The food itself was a no-frills but solid diner breakfast. It is a smaller diner with limited seating, was fairly busy when we went. Prices we more than fair, and the portions were more than generous.

Great mom and pop diner. Small town type of place. Great traditional diner food. Homemade stuff. About 12 bucks a person with coffee.

You know, from time to time you hear about what once was. This place truly is one of the last of the Mohicans. The Salem family has a history in Alabama that has more cream on the top than the Barber family and they sold cream. From Jimbo doing the financial side down south, Ed on the gridiron, and here. The best will always be the best. Ownership is one in a million, staff, couldn’t find a more loyal staff in the lower 48. When you hear of the great Birmingham institutions this is what is spoken; Pete’s famous, Niki’s West, Full Moon BBQ, the Copper Kettle and of course Salem’s. Take your kids, show them the town. Make memories. God bless you all.
