I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing but the customer service is even better! Cera is always so sweet and accommodating. She always recommends the best drinks and makes the overall Salud experience 10 times better.

I eat here any time I’m in Birmingham. Queso, chips, 3 al pastor tacos and a Mineragua. Best quick and tasty dinner.

Drove an hour to experience Salud Bham. Can honestly say one of the best restaurants and tacos I’ve had in all of Alabama. The mix of great atmosphere, great customer service, and great food all blends together so well. Attention to detail with the theme of the restaurant is amazing. Being Hispanic, a Mexican immigrant, this place hit home. Everything blended together well. Tacos are a bit pricey but are definitely worth it and very filling. Their in house Horchata and Jamaica aguas were very delicious. 100/10, Will be driving an hour back again multiple times.

Unreal Mexican food. Fresh salsas, great aguas frescas, delicious burritos, immaculate bathrooms. Friendly service and super cool decor as well.

I stopped in because of great reviews and photos/videos of food that looked fresh and well prepared. What I didn't expect is a huge amount of overly salted meat piled up bigger than the tortilla itself with tacos, and ordered tortas de pollo y asada but got a bean sandwich. I asked about the ration of beans to meat and the reply was a nice normal proportion. I feel as if this place caters to the unseasoned but overly salted gringos, no spice at all. I took every type of salsa, onions, cilantro, jalapeño, etc, that was offered but nothing had any heat, flavor.... nothing but disappointment and a bean sandwich. I do not recommend.
Service was great and hospitable though!

I've only ever had positive experiences at this restaurant; from the food to the service! The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The food is unbeatable. I have attached a picture of loaded fries I ordered to-go. But, I've also had their Birria tacos this weekend (limited) and 10/10! Can't wait to try something else new on the menu!

What a total surprise! Great food, indoor and outdoor seating and definitely not the Tex-Mex most everyone is used to.

I went for lunch and it exceeded my expectations. The service was great the food. The food was great meats were flavorful and they give you a lot of meat. The topping are self serving for the topping bar. I definitely going back.

I got the vegetarian taco option and was not impressed, the cactus was slimy and was the only vegetarian option. However even worse than the food, was the way my friends and I were treated by the staff. We were told that our presence was causing them to “lose business” so we decided to leave. It is important to mention that we were all young Black students. We did not feel welcomed and felt racially targeted, despite being paying customers. Unfortunately, knowing that this was a minority owned restaurant we assumed this would be a safe space for us to congregate and eat. Unfortunately that was not the case.

We came to Salud Taqueria on Monday night with a large group of friends to celebrate finishing an exam and two classmates being elected class president and vice president. The restaurant was nearly empty, and most of us ordered both food and drinks. My cactus tacos were cold and lacked flavor, but the bigger issue was the service.

In the middle of our meal, the manager/owner asked for a “leader of the party” and then told us, “people were leaving because of y’all,” and that we were “yelling for no reason.” Instead of simply asking us to lower our voices, his approach was distasteful and left us feeling singled out. We were at a bar/restaurant, not a five-star fine dining spot, and our group was just celebrating respectfully. As a group of mostly Black medical students, we left feeling disrespected and unwelcome in a place we had hoped could become a regular spot.

Well…. The food was good, but the price I paid was just not worth it. I paid with my money and soul sadly. After enjoying a meal with my medical school friends and spending over 75 dollars personally, we were told we were a problem.

Now of course the owner waited until we paid because he needed our money first. You thought that green was the only race that didn’t matter, think again. Do not come here if you are an African American and want to feel respected. It just won’t happen.

Hopefully the owner sees this and realizes that just because we’re African American does not mean we don’t have disposable income. We enjoyed the drinks and food and would’ve made this a happy hour regular, but we cannot do that in good spirits anymore.

Ownership, this is a call to be better. Have a blessed day!
