Very nice place, we really enjoyed it.
We came Monday night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday with his parents and had Abby as our server, she was awesome and took such good care of us! The food was also great, they do an exceptional veggie plate.
Satterfield's stands out as a unique, highly recommended place for special occasions. I have a long list of dietary restrictions, due to food sensitivities . We call in advance, give them the list, and they work around them to ensure I have a good meal and no negative after effects. The service is top notch and the food delicious. Valet parking is required due to limited parking space. For us, the price is worth it. It is one of the very few places I can go out to eat in the Birmingham area. 5 stars, no question.
We went for our anniversary. I had a pork chop that was the best I've ever had. Portion was very generous. Drinks, clam soup, and a lemon sorbet were all well-balanced and delicious. The only possible thing I could point out is it looks like it's probably time for a minor update to the decor. A fresh coat of paint might go a long way.
I highly recommend Satterfield's for a special occasion. It's not cheap but it was worth what we got.
I dont understand giving an honest review of a restaurant we frequent SATTERFIELDS RESTAURANT (3161 Cahaba Heights Rd, Birmingham, AL 35243) and they literally blocked me on Facebook! Went to look at their daily menu, that's how we found out.
I dont understand?! Frequent customers give a review and get blocked! Kind of speaks volumes...
We went there for an anniversary dinner. Fried okra appetizer was good, hot and crisp. The salads were delicious. Our entrees were disappointing. My husband had trout, which was so salty it was nearly inedible. My beef tenderloin was ordered medium rare and came out medium well, barely any pink. The server agreed it was not medium rare. The second time around it was cooked perfectly and was delicious, but my husband had finished eating before my entree was returned. If he had waited on me, his meal would have been cold. They did comp us one piece of delicious cheesecake. The wine was good and the service was good, but we won’t be back for another less than awesome $250 meal.
Satterfields is an exquisite restaurant, both upscale and comfortable. It is obvious they take pride in their dishes and service. We always feel welcome and look forward to our next visit.
We had Grilled Durok Pork Chop we order for two. I don’t have any complaint and I can rate the dish especially the Pork Chop ill rate it 8 over 10 which is a pass! But I wish the waiters was attentive enough. Moreover this is the 5th time I’m coming to the restaurant.
Kenneth was our waiter. He did a first rate job. Oysters are always a treat there. Also, really enjoyed the shrimp and grits.
My husband and I use to frequent Satterfields, however, we took a few months break. We went in on Friday 01/31/25. First complaint is; the menu that was posted on FB was not the menu given to us. The menu on FB showed Redfish. Our menu showed Pan Seared Fluke. The 2nd issue is the Frito Misto. Something we have always ordered. We noticed the breading was different and just not like it previously had been which to us, was not good. Thick, yet crumbly. The other issue, hen we use to get the frito misto, it had grouper or a more quality fish. It now has cheap catfish for the same price. We like catfish but for the price, that's a shame!! Our visit this time, overall, was JUST PLAIN different and not sure we will return anytime soon.

Perfect balance between elegance and homey feel. Our server Kenneth was fantastic throughout the night and every course tasted amazing. Has become a favorite Birmingham restaurant.

Please do not disregard this review bc of the images!! ????Dining here was phenomenal❣️?❣️?❣️
Our appetizers were the Caesar salad, Truffled potato gnocchi, and crispy pork belly. There was so much flavor in each dish, I never put my fork down and forgot to take pics??? so I took pics of the EMPTY PLATES to honor what was left- no bite left behind??? lolol. As for our entrées we devoured the Brick roasted chicken and Seven vegetable platter.
So listen, Rrrricardo and Ford were great servers/ bartenders! Super funny with great stories, each individually personable. They memorized all 3 of our dishes--appetizers and entrées!! Can't wait to come back to try the okra and Patagonian Salmon??

Easily the best dinner I have ever eaten. Everything from drinks to dessert was immaculate. We had the potato gnocchi, pork belly, crab cakes, and beef tenderloin. We were audibly saying "wow". Definitely our new spot for special occasions.
