Actually this is the one I ate at, heard about it on Triple D I believe. Totally awesome, chicken is great, good sauce, slaw, beans. GREAT

Saws is the abosolutr best BBQ in Alabama! You can visit any one of their three locations in Birmingham, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. All of their locations have different menus, but the Homewood location has amazing ribs that completely fall of the bone. Downtown in Avondale they have a pork and greens plate that is phenomenal. This is a must try if you are in the Birmingham area!

Where has white bbq sauce been all my life? Wow, loved it. The pulled pork was good and didn't not come with sauce on it. The ribs seemed very fatty to me but the sauce was good. The chicken was quite charred but the sauce made the chicken amazing. The turnip greens were better than most. The Cole slaw didn't have mayo which is how I like it but I am in the south. I did not like the deviled eggs as they were bitter and had a similar flavor to the Cole slaw.

Saw's is a charming hole-in-the-wall that makes for a great stop popular with locals. The employees are incredibly nice and the experience is definitely fun! I delved into a hearty sampler plate featuring a highlight of the various meats served up by Saw's. The chicken leg was really good, nice and tender falling off the bone. The grilled chicken skin smothered in spices was truly perfection, but I couldn't properly enjoy it through the Alabama White sauce. Even though that's my favorite sauce on the planet, I recommend getting it on the side so you can really savor that chicken skin! The real highlight was the mac 'n' cheese, with crispy browned cheesy pieces, and a creamy texture resembling the finest mashed potatoes. It's a unique texture and some of the best mac I've ever tried! The ribs were thankfully much larger than competitor Dreamland, whose ribs have now shrunk to a minuscule size, and dry as can be. These ribs were tender, but unfortunately not as good as I've had elsewhere. The third meat was either brisket or pulled pork? That wasn't great, but admittedly I've been spoiled by some of the world's greatest barbecue at legendary spots throughout Texas and North Carolina. So I have lofty standards. The barbecue sauce was also too watery and not nearly thick enough. But our overall experience was good and we love the people here.

If you want bbq but don't want to stand over a hot grill, Saw's is the only place to go! The chicken with white bbq sauce is divine! The ribs are yummy and the brisket is AMAZING! Great sides like mac and cheese and baked beans make for a great lunch or dinner. It is kinda kinda smoky when eating in but you will be focused on your food and won't care!

We went for lunch and had a very hard time finding a seat. This tells me everybody enjoys this good bar b que. It was a nice lunch but I was a little disappointed that there was no beef ribs.

A great place to get white BBQ sauce. Birmingham is the home of white BBQ sauce and Saw's is an excellent location to exploit. The redo is located near Interstate 65, so the visit did not delay our Nashville to Montgomery drive too much. The staff is helpful.

The bbq is great but the chicken sandwich is mind blowing. It will rock your world and make any other sandwich you have ever eaten seem like bologna. The portion is huge and the white sauce is memorable. You will leave with a bottle of white sauce because it is that good. You can use it on anything and will want to because it is that good! The fried oreo dessert was phenomenal. Service is great, the people are friendly and the location is worth making this place a priority. Why they have not franchised out is beyond my comprehension. This place could be a national phenomenon if they expanded. If you are within 2 hours, make a detour. You won't be disappointed.

The chicken sandwich with white sauce is wonderful!!! Bar-b-que is really good too but I am a fan of the white sauce. Get some everytime I pass through town.

My first visit. Not a big fan of the Carolina taste but I really enjoyed the taste. What I didn't like was the amount of fat on the ribs. Also enjoyed the turnip greens. The coleslaw looked like mush but actually tasted very good. As for the amount of sauce on the ribs, I can only say that I had to wash my hands before I went to the bathroom.

I enjoyed Saw's Soul Kitchen location (in Avondale) last night so much better than this location. The ribs here for lunch were good but were a little fatty and chewy. Baked beans not that great. Greens were good. No fries. If I would have come to this Saw's first, I probably wouldn't have made it to Saw's Soul Kitchen in Avondale which was awesome!
