Location is cute, servers are friendly, atmosphere is nice, service is speedy. The food is great. Spot on delicious. Partner says the tonkatsu ramen is the best he's ever had. Silky noodles and tender pork, with rich flavorful broth. My roll hit the spot being crunchy, spicy and sweet. It was cut to a good bite size as well. Will return the next time we are in Birmingham area. I forgot to add why I subtracted one star. The toilet in the women's bathroom is not bolted properly and it nearly toppled me over to the floor which was horribly sticky, to the point when I left the restroom my shoes were making that gross sticky sound. Please fix the restrooms and it will be 5

Phenomenal staff who intimately knows the menu. Sometimes I am guilty of eating here every night while in town. Try the bulgogi ribeye it's delicious

Great food and service. Their lamb curry and beef rendeng are go to's. Great every time.

We have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Everything from the sushi to the specialty entrees are delicious and made to order. Friendly, attentive, enthusiastic server who answered all of our questions about the menu and made sure our food had the right level of spiciness, very fresh ingredients are evident in their foods and presentation is even pretty. The drinks were very fairly priced, and were good as well. I had the watermelon margarita and they crushed up fresh watermelon in it. The food was delicious, with many levels of flavor. For an appetizer, we had the pot stickers. Then for dinner I had the wagyu beff tartar and my husband had the spicy chicken noodles. It is always a popular choice with the locals and always busy. I'd recommend all of it. Definitely will be back!!

When my husband suggested we order takeout earlier this week, my mind immediately went to the 2022 Taste of Homewood People's Choice WINNER (‼) Shiki Homewood !! I love this place so much! The menu is enormous and features some Thai favorites in addition to all your sushi choices you could ever dream of. We each ordered our own Super Crunch appetizer even typing that out I'm lol-ing at how basic that is but it is just the perfect little easy first course and I make NO APOLOGIES I ordered Cashew Nut Chicken - the SAUCE this dish was in was perfectly savory, sweet and spicy!! Jacob ordered Opor Ayam (chicken cooked in yellow curry sauce). He gets this almost every time we order from Shiki because it's his ultimate takeout comfort food. I've ordered everything at Shiki from specialty rolls, pad Thai, ramen, and I have NEVER been disappointed in our meal

Yes my first time at this restaurant, my experience was awesome, except for the waitress charging me for my friend's food and charging my friend my food. Overall the experience was great!

Nice atmosphere and staff. The spicy shrimp and scallops were quite flavorful and filling. Pretty good beer selection too.

If I had made this review after my first visit it would be outstanding reviews except for one comment. However, I returned the 2nd day with someone that never had Sushi outside of a grocery store to introduce an entirely different experience to them. This review will cover both visits. The various dishes on the first trip were all outstanding. There was a language barrier issue when I requested no mint or basil in anything! I was almost ready to just pick it out while my servers (2) handled my request. We got through it and both of them provided excellent service. The first waitress ended up behind the counter slicing vegetables. As I was waiting to pay my bill I looked up to see her wipe her nose with her bare hand like a child. I sat there hoping she didn't continue prepping raw food without washing her hands. Yep! She picked up that knife and sliced the rest of the green onions or chives. Gross. This is something that needs to be addressed ASAP. The food was amazing. (Insert joke). The 2nd visit: We were seated immediately since we arrived at 5:00. One on the same waitress waited on us. The language barrier caused a slight misunderstanding in the orders but it was minor. The food was delicious again except for the Miso Spicy Soup. One of the item yesterday was also a Spicy soup that I enjoyed. The bowl of the spicy Miso Roman Noodles were ridiculously hot. The pork was perfectly cooked but too hot to process. My mouth was on fire. I actually sat there fanning my tongue while waiting on my glass to be refilled. I made my waitress aware of my discomfort and she chuckled and said "yeah it's " Spicy"That's it! No Offer to take it back, replace it or talk to the manager. I don't make scenarios because I don't want to be "That" type of customer. I am not in anyone's establishment ordering food unless I'm willing to pay for it. If a business gives me a bad order, Once I make them aware of the situation I will follow their lead. I'm going to pay for it. But it's going to be the last $.10 they EVER get from me. As I poured the soup into my Togo container, I noticed a thick mass of red seasoning in the original bowl. Maybe they added more spice than required? Later when the temperature drop what's better than soup? I was chilly and willing to doctor the bowl to try the soup again. When I looked at it in bright lights the broth was like a curry from all the excess chili. Even after adding coconut milk/broth and butter to the bowl, it was still too hot to consume. I felt like I was eating liquid TNT. Never had that reaction with any other spicy Thai item I've ordered. It was $17 wasted. The other problem that need to be addressed is how they process the Yelp discount offered when one checks in to the app. The server took my entire phone and walked away out of my sight. She came back to ask for my credit card WITHOUT my phone. I asked she immediately bring my phone back to me! They need to be able to process that discount at the table instead of disappearing with my opened device. That is a security major concern. Someone could be doing all types of nefarious behavior with my phone in the back. It took too long to close the bills because they applied the wrong tabs to the wrong cards and had to correct that. I had to waste time today getting the credit cards stored in my phone updated and activated. The food is outstanding, the place is extremely small, especially in this Covid ere. They need to invest in mobile unit that can close out table side. Their staff needs to take a refresher hygiene safety practice class including the proper way to reduce illnesses with hand washing!

Shiki Thai is super yummy! The Spring Rolls and Ginger salad are amazing! And, the ABSOLUTE best Coconut soup in town! The food is always fresh, they get takeout's *right and have super fly, friendly employees! For #Thai go here! Plus, the prices are super reasonable!

Absolutely amazing food. Great atmosphere. Great food. Fast service. Manager came and checked on us ! Will be coming back soon. I got 3 appetizers (fried shrimp tempura, spring rolls, and rock shrimp) 10/10 for each item ! The decorations inside are stunning as well. Nice vibe all together.

Had the beef rendang for the first time tonight and it was truly one of the most flavorful, tender meals I can ever recall eating!! Wonderful job!!!

Amazing ambience, service, and happy hour deals. Went on a Tuesday and got the pad thai and house roll. Service was very attentive and fast. Can't wait to make this the regular dinner date spot.

Good deal on Sundays: any roll 14$ and under are 9$. There is a really nice patio area, and the sushi is fresh. Recommend the Kamikaze Roll and the Futomaki Roll.
