Disappointing Experience My husband and I dined here on Saturday, and unfortunately, our experience was a letdown. While my food was delicious, my husband's was not. Despite requesting extra cheese, his chicken has brown arrived with absolutely no cheese & his sweet heat chicken slider arrived with shockingly, a piece of pork chop in between the chicken. He doesn’t eat pork so that could have really made him sick. The server apologized, but no effort was made to remake the dish or provide a refund. Instead, they brought out an additional piece of chicken, but the issue remained unresolved. To make matters worse, the owner never came to speak with us as promised. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. The lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and failure to make things right have ensured that we will not be returning.

Unfortunately my friends and I ended up walking out of this restaurant!!! Nothing about this restaurant seemed to be in order! Before arriving, we called and made a reservation because we were visiting from out of town! Was told we had a table reserved. When we arrived, no one was at the door to greet us and give instructions on the process. We got into line with everyone after being told to "trust the process" when we informed a lady that we had a reservation! Finally, we see an open table, so not knowing we got out of line thinking our order would be taken at the table only to find out that you still have to order at the kiosk!!! So why are to go orders and dine in customers all in the same line placing orders? It appeared to be only 1 person waiting tables and 1 person bringing the food out! WE GOT UP AND LEFT!!! Everyone's food did look good, but it was too much confusion in such a small space!

First of all, no one said anything to me when I came in. The customer service was terrible and the food was very mid. As a young black female, I love to support black businesses, but I will not be coming back as the customer service was awful. I waited about 30 minutes for a table to open up for my party, and the lady had the nerve to ask me how long the rest of my party was coming because other people were waiting.

I recently visited SLIDE for Sunday brunch with my sisters and a friend. This restaurant had been on my list for months, and I was excited to finally try it. While the food exceeded my expectations, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor customer service.

Let’s start with the positive—the food was amazing! I ordered the catfish & grits, and for the first time in a while, I left with a clean plate and no leftovers. The flavors were spot on, and I can confidently say the kitchen knows what they’re doing.

However, the service left much to be desired. Our friend arrived earlier than us and waited over 20 minutes for seating, as it is a self-seating establishment and her first time visiting. She was approached by a staff member (who we initially thought was the owner) and asked how long her party would be since others were waiting. This came off as dismissive, especially since she had already been waiting. There were no clear signs explaining the seating process, which led to unnecessary confusion.

During our visit, it took 30+ minutes to receive our food, and while we noticed other tables receiving exceptional service, we felt overlooked. The same host who spoke to our friend earlier was actively engaging with other tables, mentioning complimentary mimosas, yet she never approached ours. We had to ask another staff member about them, and only then did someone come to take our drink order.

The most shocking part of the experience was at the end of our meal. The same host, who had not checked on us since speaking to our friend earlier, suddenly returned to ask how everything was. When we responded with positive feedback on the food, she aggressively confronted our friend about a 1-star review she had left, calling it distasteful and tactless. When our friend tried to explain her perspective, the host rudely cut her off, saying she didn’t care about her opinion and dismissively ended the conversation. This was completely unprofessional and made the entire interaction uncomfortable.

Fortunately, the owner later stepped in, and her approach was the saving grace of our experience. She was calm, listened to our concerns, and acknowledged that they are still working through operational kinks. She apologized, which we appreciated.
However, the host continued to be dismissive and deny our account of events, despite all four of us witnessing the same interaction.
Overall, the food was excellent, but the customer service experience was disappointing. I would love to return for the food, but unless the staff dynamic changes-especially in terms of professionalism-I'm not sure l would. One recommendation for management: clearly communicate the seating process with signage or instructions to avoid confusion for future guests.

Everything was great . Food , vibes . Only thing I really didn’t like is our party food didn’t all come out at once cause how we ordered but everything else 10+ across the board . I can’t wait to go back .

The food was really amazing, but I wanted to order the small side of fries with spinach sauce & couldn't because it was 3 different prices....on the menu it stated $5 for the small side, kiosk was $8, & $10 on the menu for a Lg side..so I didn't order it i wasn't sure of the price & wasn't sure if I would like it...it's an amazing place & food was great...I had the salmon & grits...

The food here is so cute!! I ordered the shrimp & grits 🔥😋it was superb. The shrimp was very juicy and not over cooked & flavorful! The grits were the correct consistency 🙌🏾 not running & not too thick!! Someone in the kitchen definitely knew what they were doing! Definitely check out this spot ….it’s a MUST TRY!! Slide right on in!! 🤣

I ordered the nachos but they weren't exactly like the pic on the menu and just not for me. So, I ordered the brisket slider and it was really good. The meat was tender and very flavorful. The fries are slammin. I don't like that you can't get a refill on soda or tea, it's sold on by the bottle but they do have the good ice. Location is dope but parking sucks.

The food is great, but the staff is incompetent and the space is way too small. I saw several groups leave due to the restaurant being jam packed. It was a very uncomfortable experience. They need to hire more servers and move to a bigger space. If you want to eat here, either plan to get your food to go or don’t waste your time going.

Thanks for the feedback. I referred to the staff as incompetent because we were not checked on during our visit, and I had to retrieve my food from the window myself. That is unacceptable. The aim of my review was to share my experience and inform potential customers about the limited seating available. My intention was to suggest takeout as a viable alternative due to the limited space. Constructive criticism is vital in the restaurant industry, and I believe it can lead to improvements. I encourage you to view this review as such rather than as a deterrent for future customers.

The food was good. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was efficient. This was my first time visiting and I came with a group. There wasn't a long wait nor forgotten food. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. The prices were reasonable. The lemonade was as sweet as I liked it but next time I'll bring myself some Splenda. Definitely tasty and inviting. I'll be back
