I’ve been a loyal customer of the restaurant for years - no exaggeration. It’s hands-down the best spot in town, and I go 2–3 times a week without fail. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a dinner with friends, I’ve never once left disappointed from the physical location. The service is usually kind, the atmosphere is welcoming, and they’ve truly built something special there.
That said… the taco truck is a completely different story. And unfortunately, I can’t keep quiet about it anymore.
The truck staff are consistently rude, short with customers, and just flat-out careless. I’ve watched them roll their eyes at people, speak in a condescending tone, and act like doing their job is some massive inconvenience. I’ve also experienced being overcharged, ignored at the window, and even skipped over in line while they served friends or regulars they actually like. It’s disrespectful — especially when I’m not some random walk-up customer, I’m someone who has supported this business for a long time.
What’s frustrating is that the quality of the food at the truck doesn’t match the restaurant either. Orders are wrong, portions are smaller, and it feels like they’re just trying to rush everyone through and make a quick buck — not provide the same care and quality that makes the restaurant great.
And the worst part? When you try to say something or give feedback, they get defensive or just shrug it off. No accountability. No professionalism. Just attitude.
It’s honestly disappointing. I love the main restaurant, I’ll probably still go — but I’m done with the taco truck. And I hate that I even have to say that, because I’ve always been a proud supporter of this place. But they’re losing loyal customers by letting the truck operate like this, and I hope someone higher up is paying attention.
Bottom line: Restaurant = 10/10. Taco truck = no thanks.

My teenage son and I were Visiting Birmingham and tried the Taco Morro Food truck near the Amtrak Station across the street from the Birmingham Police Station. We both ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries. Best Philly cheesesteak I’ve eaten in a while. Neighborhood wasn’t the best. We are in the car because there were not any seating outside near the food truck. Definitely worth the try.

Called in the order and they got it ready fairly quickly. We ordered the special soup and a burrito with ground beef and queso on top (I had no clue what I wanted so they created this burrito for me with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, and queso on top ). The burrito had good flavor the rice was a little bland on its own but combined with the burrito it was ok. The beans were good and a bit runnier than I prefer but the flavor was good. My colleague enjoyed her soup; said it was filling, hot, and delicious. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Genuinely the worst food I’ve ever had. I can recommend you a million other places in bham with better tacos. Literally couldn’t eat what they gave me and paid $50 wanting to try multiple items. All of them disgusting or lacking in flavor.

The fish and shrimp Taco(s) are underwhelming. The lettuce and tomatoes on the Tacos was bag fresh. The salsa tastes like an unfinished recipe.

Today, I walked into the location in Avondale to purchase food, but first I needed to use the restroom. I asked if they had a restroom and the young lady’s response was “It’s only for paying customers”. I responded that I was about to be a paying customers but because of her assumption, I wouldn’t be patronizing their establishment. I left, went next door to Munchie’s on 5th, used the facilities and purchase food there. To be honest, I was even hungry, but in order to use the facilities, I would buy something for later. Moral of the story, stop stereotyping and profiling.
