We love the new location! We prefer the lunch buffet because of the variety. The food is consistently good and they offer a wide selection of options. The only issue I have noticed is that the servers can be a little slow and they seem to run out of small bowls every time I’m there. Go when you have an appetite - there’s a lot to enjoy!
Peak indian food right here
dont order takeout though looks like they screw those orders up (based on reviews)

Ordered chicken biryani and it was terrible, tasted more like Indian pickle rice than actual biryani. A few chicken pieces were burnt, and some cold rice balls clearly showed it wasn’t freshly made. This isn’t even close to an actual biryani.

If there's an option I would give 0 stars for this restaurant. I ordered chicken 65 there are only 4 pieces in a huge box and ordered paneer pakoda I can see some black color burnt thing inside a totally skippable restaurant I would rather eat Mexican but not this Indian restaurant

Dinner two on Saturday evening. First visit to Taj India since relocation to Clairmont Avenue. Very easy parking. Clean well maintained dining room. Friendly, welcoming and professional staff all around. Very varied menu for drink and food. Traditional Indian items but many more not offered at other Indian restaurants in Birmingham Metro. Food came out fresh and piping hot. Everything was excellent. I especially enjoyed the chicken masaledar! Drinks, apps, entrees and desserts for under $70! Excellent quality, top value. Most highly recommend Taj India.
We ate as a family at Taj India and it was really excellent! We had papadam with delicious sauces to start, and super tasty food for the main course. There was plenty of choice for everyone on the extensive but varied menu - vegetarian and also with different meats. The food was great! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and the staff very friendly. A very successful evening all round!
Food was wonderful and delicious. The staff do an amazing job! Great service and a fun and friendly atmosphere. Lunch or dinner always a great experience.

For about 30 years this has been a classic excellent place to get authentic Indian food. Run by Family the prices are good the food is excellent. But you have to be careful if you're not used to it the food is very very very very spicy. You need to ask for no spice if you're a rookie like me. Good place to take a date

This place used to be my favorite for lunch and now is the place I tread the most in my whole life. The service is atrocious, we had a group of 25 people with only one server who decided to take the orders in about 1 hour so the people that ordered first had already spent one hour waiting before the food order went to the kitchen. The restaurant was completely empty and they had three more servers doing nothing, this is completely unacceptable and I'm never coming back.

Flies everywhere
Not many Indian options in Birmingham, this is worth a visit. Well made, more inter than run of the mill, venue is clean and spacious.
