I was across the street getting a window fixed in my car when I decided to give this little diner a try. As I sat down with my meal I began to pray over my meal and everything that I have been going through just hit me all at once. All of a sudden I was crying in the butter beans, just sitting in the lap of Jesus asking for comfort and guidance. When I opened my eyes there stood the owner of the restaurant, he reached out and put his hand on my shoulder and asked if he could give me a hug. He was so genuine and compassionate, it was such a blessing to me in that moment. Also the food was absolutely wonderful, it filled my stomach and my heart. I left with more than I came into that restaurant with.

I've been eating at Ted's ever since I moved to Birmingham. It's one of the best meat and vegetables restaurants I've ever been to. It's always consistent. I love this place. I recommend it for anyone that likes meat and vegetables.

Me and my buddy who just moved here for college wanted to go get breakfast after our morning workout. We walk in and watch the host sit on his phone for 5 minutes before the server finally went and got him to seat us. Menu is pretty high priced for what you are getting. I got the southern breakfast. Pancake was alright, eggs cooked good, bacon was good, biscuit very good, potatoes were very mushy with no crisp, and a fruit bowl with a single strawberries and like 3 blueberries and a couple cubes of melon . 21 dollars for what I could have gotten at Waffle House for 12 and it would have been better along with more food. The plates are a funky shape that let your food slide off. An extra side of anything is like 6 dollars.

Owner and staff are very accommodating and courteous. Loved the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cooked cabbage and the traditional southern feel.
Love this place.always good food and just friendly family restaurant. They have brunch on Saturday I try never to miss.breakfast quesidlla,ribeye steak and waffles are all fantastic.i have tried and enjoyed almost the whole menu.give them a try

It was… eh, ok. Food was soooo bland. The Mac and cheese was grainy, the corn was so over cooked it was almost grey, the fried chicken was crunchy but dry and bland. Nice sweet tea. The place needs some TLC, the seats are sagging, the walls and floor need power washing. The woman serving the food was rushing us, even though there was nobody behind us and the food didn’t have labels, so we’re trying to figure out what we were ordering. The food and service were great! The owner greeted us and spoke to us for while. He was very personable and made us feel very welcome. The coffee was really good too (they grind it on premises daily). I had the souvlaki sandwich which was amazing. My daughter had the quesadilla which was also really good. The restaurant has a cozy down home diner feel. You could tell there were a lot of regulars. We highly recommend this place.
