It was ok, the pricing was reasonable but good and service quality was meh at best. Very understaffed so food and drink delivery was very slow. Meat was ok but nothing special.

Didn't get reservations beforehand. We were there when it opened, so we got seated right away. The food is great, like always, and the service was fine. You can't ever go wrong eating here. Place did get busy since there was a football game and a concert around the same time. Food was brought around quickly.

Texas de Brazil has quickly become one of our absolute favorite places in Birmingham, and it's hard to go anywhere else on special occasions. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, and though we've always made reservations to be safe, but have never had problems with it being too busy. The ambience feels more fancy than the actual dress code, and you'll see everyone from couples dressed up for date night to casual groups to even parents out with their young children. There is also a nice wraparound patio for relaxing before or after your meal. For those unfamiliar with churruscaro steak houses, this is an all-you-can eat affair. There is a salad/side bar with hot and cold offerings (and some of the best potatoes au gratin I've ever had). Specual wait staff come around to your table with skewers of flame-roasted meats, mostly various cuts and styles of steak but with some chicken, pork, and lamb thrown in as well. Other sides like fries, mashed potatoes, fried plantains, and cheesy bread are brought straight to your table. Everything is high quality and tastes amazing. The key is making sure you don't go overboard! There is also a good selection of cocktails and desserts, though these are not included in the meal price. We know from personal experience that the Rio Sunrise cocktail and the cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, and creme brulee are all fantastic.Parking: There is a paid parking garage around the block from the restaurant. Be warned, free surface lots in the area close at 7pm.

Service is good and the place looks nice. The meat was just ok. None of the meats were absolutely delicious but they were tender. They say all the meat is cocked medium rare but every cut I got was between medium well and well done. The moneys worth came from quantity in my opinion. The salad bar was good and the hot bar while limited was good. Drinks were great.

When you come into a restaurant like this you should be greeted with a smile. Well this particular woman who’s suppose to be the store manager (CaTara) has a nasty attitude. No smile. No welcoming. No anything. I asked could we move to a spot which was too crowded and have space. Why seat everyone so close together so when the server walks by you get bumped. Plus to disgust it with your employees is so unprofessional.

I wanted to write about an experience my family and I had a few weeks ago at this restaurant. TLDR; it was one of the most expensive yet truly disappointing dining experiences we've had.We went to Texas de Brazil to celebrate a birthday and to just have the whole family together. There were eight of us there so at around $50 a person, it was a $450+ dinner. We made a reservation online - there were plenty available for this Sunday night, all the way up to 10PM - so we thought okay awesome, they won't be crowded and we'll get the full experience (it was the first time trying an american/brazilian steakhouse like this for many of us). Our reservation was for 7:30PM.When we got there, we were seated at the very front of the restaurant. Our server was nice, seemed personable, and asked us if we were there celebrating anything. He also talked about how the dining experience there worked, getting to try all different kinds of meats in various cooking styles with a large salad/sides bar. We were excited to dig in.As the carvers start to come around, they keep telling us "Oh this is the last of it!" even though we were not the only ones in the restaurant. Last of the flank steak, last of the filet that wasn't cooked until it was nearly black. Those were two of our favorite things that we just got pretty much scraps of. Safe to say at this point, we were all still starving and wanting more food. One of the carvers comes out to tell us they're very low on meat and that the kitchen was closing - this was 8PM, we had just been seated 30 minutes before. Why would you accept a reservation for 7:30PM if you planned to shut down the kitchen right after? We asked that exact question to another server - our server was no where to be found - and she had an incredibly horrible attitude with us. She said that they were shutting down the kitchen because there was no 8:30PM reservation. That if there was another party coming in, they'd make more meat to serve them and to serve us. When we asked why this was because we had hardly gotten any food at all, she threw her hands up, rolled her eyes, and said "I'm not y'all's server" and stormed away. Talk about a welcoming environment when, again, we paid so much money to be there. As she's not being helpful at all for us, I see behind her that they're taking down the salad and the side bar. So at this point, there's literally no food left for us to even pick at and it's only 8PM.Our server finally comes back and we essentially have to beg for more cheese rolls so we can fill up on something. We expressed our disappointment to the server while also understanding it's not necessarily his fault, it's a horrible policy this location or all TDB locations have. Also, remember how he asked if we were celebrating anything? Like, how most places offer up a small dessert or some other gesture to say thanks for coming in? When asked about it, he said "Oh no, we don't do anything on the house."Later in the week, my mother-in-law reached out to corporate about the situation. She hoped to rightsize the situation so we could try another Texas de Brazil location in good faith and hopefully have a good time. Instead of being helpful, they disregarded her and offered a $20 gift card. There was no real acknowledgment of the situation, apology, gratitude for our patience with what happened, etc. An offer of $20 to make things right on a $450+ dinner is about 4.5%.We are incredibly disappointed with the experience at the restaurant and how the situation has been handled since then. We'd urge you all not to spend your money celebrating anything at this restaurant.

We had reservations yesterday @ 6:45 for my friend’s birthday dinner celebration, this was our second time visiting. This time it was the most horrible experience!!! The host, Iris and manager, Tyra or Tuera (at front desk) were VERY unprofessional and most disrespectful!!! The moment our party walked in we were met with stares and laughter amongs the host and managers crew. It was so blunt that our table was their topic of conversation as they pointed and started with laughter towards our party. It was so uncomfortable that we asked our waiter if we could change tables. We were re-seated in a table near the front entrance only to be met with more bulling and laughter from manager and her crew. It was so obvious the host and manager had made so much commotion among her crew as if we were clowns. As members of the LGBT + community, this was the most unpleasant and disturbing experience in this restaurant. We did our best to tough it out as this went on for a full 2 hours during our whole visits.NO paying customer/guess should have ever go though what we experience!LGBT+ is not welcomed in this place! Especially not with managers and host that work there!

Food was excellent! Had at least 8 different cuts of meat that I tried and many choices on the salad bar. I did not try any of the soups, though one member of the group I was with indicated that the lobster bisque was very good. It was prom night, lots of dresses dragging the floor, so watching where you stepped was critical. The area where we were to sit was okay, but the puddles of liquid both on the floor and in at least 3 of the chairs was not. Even though our tables were "ready" and we were led back to them, we had to wait on someone to come clean up the mess.

We were trying to come here for my birthday tonight for the first time. We encountered traffic on the way and apparently there’s a 15 minute grace period. I tried to call anyway to let them know we were running late for our 7:45, but gave up after five minutes of wait music. We walked in at 8, waited at the check in stand for a few minutes, and were greeted by the least enthusiastic host possible. After telling her we were late for our reservation, getting a scrunched face and “okay,” we were told we’d be waiting. “Sure, do you know how long?” “No.” No smile, no further info, nothing. Do y’all do customer service? We left.
