The Anvil Pub and Grill Reviews
Especially enjoy the brunch, but we have eaten dinner there as well.
Outdoor seating on a pretty Saturday morning is my favorite. They have a nice charcuterie board and it is a great way to enjoy happy hour.
Terrible customer service. We didn’t even get a chance to eat so I cannot review the food. We showed up a little after 1:00 on Friday. There was one couple at the bar. Maybe 4 tables occupied. My mom sat down at the bar while I ran to the bathroom. I get back and she mentions how she has not been greeted at all. An employee was leaving the bar area after dropping food to the couple a few seats down. Nothing was said to her. I sit down and the bartender came out from the back...read full review
Gluten Free? Highly recommend the Anvil. Rather than just listing a few gluten-free options, they have an entire gluten-free menu.
Also, the fish fry is amazing, as are the cocktails.

The Anvil Pub and Grill provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a friendly and attentive staff. The menu offers a variety of good options, making it hard to choose just one. The atmosphere is nice and not too loud, with a pleasant patio area where guests can enjoy their meals. The carrot ginger soup and steak entree are delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The shrimp and grits dish also has good flavors. While the monk fish dish didn’t suit everyone’s personal taste, the other dishes were enjoyed by many. The standout dishes include the Risotto Monkfish, with tender fish and creamy risotto, and a pork dish served with crispy seasoned potatoes that are amazing. The Gumbo was tasty but didn’t stand out as much as other options. Recent visitors praised the food for being incredible, with some saying it could rival dishes found in London pubs. The wings were described as some of the best ever, and the fish and chips as probably the best in Birmingham. The chicken Leek pot pie was called insanely delicious and visually appealing. Overall, The Anvil offers exceptional food and service, making it a great spot for quality dishes in a cozy setting.
