I was staying in Birmingham for an occasion. I ordered a burger and fries to go from The Lab Bar and Grill. Malik Moore was my waiter and he was awesome. I had asked for a few extra items on the burger and Malik came back to double check and make sure that I didn’t want anything else on it. He was polite and professional. The burger and fries were very good!

This restaurant had delicious food every single day we came. They had buffet style and great menu options! The service was outstanding. I don’t know her name but the lady with the locs and a blinged phone case was our server and she was so kind.

Excellent restaurant with the BEST service!!! We had a tasty buffet breakfast during our stay, but even better was the service! Stephanie G. made sure we were satisfied, as well as offered great conversation, knowledge of Birmingham, and the greatest smile and attitude around!!! Thanks for making our weekend even better Stephanie! We definitely recommend this restaurant and bar, and we will help back! The staff makes it over the top!

I was sitting in the Lab on 4/19/2024 when Willow comes in with a real nasty attitude towards 2 of the employees that working during breakfast. I don't think it's real professional for her to come up to an employee with such disrepect.

After 2 doctor appointments , it was time to eat. I had never been to The Lab so we went. I had the Tomato Bisque soup. The most delicious soup ever. My daughter had barbecue chicken flatbread. Best flatbread that I have ever had. The food was great but better that that was the manager who w as also our server Stephanie G. All smiles and so helpful with our selection.

Mary Ann is the best head Bartender I have ever had! Having been here for 9 nights for a patient at UAB, she has taken wonderful care of me and always lifted my spirits on bad days! Hats off to her!

3 of us went early (before 5) and were told they didn’t open until 5 to serve food. We knew and expected to wait. About 5 after 5 someone came and took our drink order ($6 for soft drink or tea- only had Pepsi stuff). Maybe 5:20 someone came to take our order, she took 2 of the 3 and started to walk off - we caught her and reminded her there were 3 of us. It took another 20 min to get food. 1 order was completely wrong. The other 2 of us asked for Mayo for our burger- that took 10 minutes. I got my burger well done - so mainly my fault but it was so dry it was hard to eat. Especially since the mini Champaign glass of water I got was gone quickly and the refill asked for didn’t happen until I was almost done. The next refill I asked for - I’m still waiting on. The fries were good. Very good and the lab sauce was good on them, but I wouldn’t have wanted it only burger, which is how it was in the menu- I asked for it in the side. Chips and cheese dip- chips were great - and lots of them. Cheese at one time was melted Velveta. I say at one time because it was cold. It was brought at the same time as entrees. We were there for a conference at the hotel - everyone we spoke to that ate there had around the same experience. With different waitresses so it wasn’t just the girl we had.
We were guests at the Hilton...weather awful....so went down to order & pick up dinner..we chose the hamburger with sweet potato fries.....wow...best hamburger I've ever eaten..cooked well as we ordered with all the trimmings....could hardly get a bite as it was so big. And the sweet potato fries....a most generous serving. Needless to say it was a very nice dining experience. The young lady that waited on me at the door was so very courteous....though she was busy & appeared to have many duties to handle.

This was a lovely dining experience with great service! The food, particularly the paninis and flatbreads were delicious and filling. We had great service from Lisa and Stephanie who were very personable, kind, and checked up on us frequently. We also had a great breakfast the next day with great service again from Lisa and Stephanie!

My husband has been in the ICU for a week and my kids and I were sick of fried food and burgers. We found the Lab on Google and it was luckily only a few blocks away. It was quiet and the bartender and our waitress made sure we were fed well and kept me in the margaritas I needed. Food was good, drinks were amazing. It made a hard day so much better. Will make sure to come back.

We called in to place a to go order based on Find my Gluten Free app. It said it had a gluten free menu. Due to covid we opted for to go. I called and the chef answered the phone. I started my order to be told where did you get that menu. I said on your website and he said oh that menu is not good due to covid. He offered some gluten free suggestions so i ordered a special, a lab salad and street tacos for my family. Got back to our room and the lab salad was watery with oil and no flavor. The special which was fried chicken with peas, collards etc was so full of soggy bacon as flavoring that we couldn't eat it. The tacos were fatty pork and a little cheese sprinkled on no other toppings. Like a said a Sad Sad meal. We will not go back on our next trip.
