It you really want Purple Onion, do yourself a favor and jump over the hill and go to the one in Homewood.
The one in Lakeview has went way down hill for some reason. Last two times I went there to get a Baker, which is a huge part of their menu, they weren't ready -- at 11:00? Was told they "opened late". Don't they serve breakfast also? Maybe I'm misinformed on that.
Today I ordered LP wings after being told no bakers. The wings had almost no LP flavoring and tasted like plain wings. They also shorted me one. That's okay because they tasted horrible and I didn't finish them anyway. Also the fries tasted like the fryer hasn't been cleaned in a hot minute.
I used to love this Purple Onion location. I don't know what has changed, but it's just not good nor consistent. It might take me 10 more minutes to go to Homewood, but I will make the drive.

A woman found a roach in her baked potato and this establishment did nothing about it. Then a customer took it upon themselves to get involved and started cursing the young lady out and the employees here did absolutely nothing. They instead called the police on the woman. I’m never coming back

Was disappointed in my gyro plate. Very greasy and salt. My husband breakfast burrito was missing items.
I ordered a Falafel Plate from this Purple Onion location at 6:31 pm via the phone. Since I am vegan, this is the only thing I ever order. I picked up the food, and when I got home to eat, the rice was overcooked, the hummus was watery, and the tabouli was old and discolored. I called Rusha or Russia to inform her about my order. She told me to bring the food back tonight. I told her that I live 20 minutes away, and I was tired from working all day. She suggested that I bring it back in the morning. Honestly, I don't even want them to remake it. I will never patronize this establishment again. I will take it back tomorrow but I want a refund!
Update: I have called several times yesterday and today to get a refund and I keep getting told that no managers are on duty and a refund can't be given unless the manager is in. It is damn near 7pm and STILL no manger on duty! I am SUPER PISSED because I am being given the run around so they won't have to give me my money back!
