My wife recently had an overnight procedure at UAB, so we looked up Cajun restaurants in the area and this was the closest to us. I’ve been to NOLA countless times over the years and I’m here to say, every morsel of food we ate at this place was hands down better than anything I’ve ever had in NOLA. I love spicy food and everything was seasoned to perfection. I honestly can’t say enough great things about this hidden gem. Super friendly staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. We live in North AL and I would definitely drive the hour south just to go eat here again. It was absolutely amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

1st time at the new location. Food was ready when we arrived for pick up. We usually get take out here and the food did not disappoint.

Parking: Location busy in a strip center. Luckily my sig other waited in the car while I ran in to pick up food.

Every year for my birthday my family takes me out to the restaurant of my choice. I had heard so many great things about Rougaroux that was my choice this year. We were in for lunch on Saturday and we couldn't have been more impressed. The friendly staff, authentic atmosphere, and phenomenal food made this my favorite birthday yet!!!

Delicious Cajun cuisine. We will definitely try it again. The back patio on a Saturday afternoon was perfect.

I usually only eat Boudin when I’m in Louisiana but I was pleasantly surprised with boudin here, delicious. Had a cup of gumbo and some hush puppies, 10, all good.

You don’t wanna miss the Caesar salad. I get mine with blackened shrimp, my friend got hers with fried oysters. Not a photo of my full salad because I had to start noshing right away, but it was stacked high when it was plated! Yum yum!

Friendly service, clean open space.

The Rougaroux – enough said! It's truly an authentic spot in Birmingham for New Orleans cuisine. They've even expanded with a new location in Mountain Brook Village. The po'boy catfish, red beans and rice, and gumbo are must-tries! I wish I could have indulged more, but that will have to wait until next time.

Parking: Find a spot while you can. Available parking around the back as well.

Same great offerings as the Avondale location, real glad to have another one available when we're in the area. Service was quick, and real attentive to my son's allergies. Thanks!
