Five stars all the way! Excellent service, beautiful decor, awesome cocktails, good food and reasonable prices. What else can you ask for! Shoutout to the bartender who was handling the crowded bar area like a pro. I will definitely be back.
We stayed at the hotel about a week ago for a concert in town and decided to give this place a try since it out since it was so convenient. We were seated and had ordered our drinks and food within 10 minutes. Almost an hour goes by and the server still hasn't brought our drinks, refilled the water or even checked in to let us know what was going on. Other people who were seated and ordered after us got their food and drinks in a timely manner. Makers Mark was hosting an event that night and it was pretty clear nobody cared that we were there. After waiting for an hour for food and drink we got up and left. I refused to spend my money at a place that didn't seem to care about business. Wouldn't recommend this place at all
Starting with the ambience, this place offers a great place to meet and greet friends for a drink or a romantic dinner. Food was scrumptious - best grilled pork chop! And, menu items are flexible. Wait staff appear to want to be there and want to make your evening special!Dietary restrictions: Side dishes are flexible.
Service: let's talk about the hospitality that immediately greets you upon arrival. Ms. Beverly, the owner, and her team are absolutely phenomenal. As a business owner, it's often tough to locate establishments that are able to work with our needs and wishes for events and catering. Six Sixteen is sharp and always willing to negotiate best practices and strategies to ensure that our team has what it needs. The hospitality and professionalism of Six Sixteen's catering is greatly appreciated!
This place is a JOKE. The "charcuterie" was 3 small slices of grocery store salami, prosciutto, and coppa, with Ritz crackers, wax cheddar and pecorino, cheap Gouda, and a small wedge of brie. $27. The shrimp and grits...where to even start. The grits weren't even seasoned! Bland and boring with WAY too much pepper in the shrimp sauce and only 4 depressing sized shrimp. $24. Now let's talk about my 5 oz burger. Aside from the bun (which was slathered in butter and improperly toasted) the burger, which is pictured for proof, was ordered medium and came out RAW!!! So happy that I made it to my room before vomiting ☺️?. Nothing better than paying for food poisoning because an "executive chef" doesn't know how to bring hamburger to temperature. At least the green beans were good, probably because they came out of a can and were boiled in the can water. $22. The only good part of this meal was the desert... BUT WAIT! Turns out the desert is store bought. Probably why it was the best part of our meal.***Our server Rachel was amazing*** truly the only enjoyable part of our $95 experience. She was beautiful, bright, attentive, patient, and compassionate. I would never eat here again, however, when she inevitably ends up at another (much better and more ethical) restaurant, we would happily travel to see her again.I wish I could not only leave 0 stars but, report anyone who gave this POS a decent review because they either have no business reviewing food or were coerced to leave a good review. DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU WILL GET SICK. FROM THE FOOD AND THE PRICES.
Wow! The Six Sixteen is a special place! The apple pie is will change your life! Beverly and her family have made my trip to Birmingham memorable!
SO DISAPPOINTING! Please save your money and time!! DO NOT GO HERE! I was expecting this place to be a great and romantic dinner for me and my husband, although the venue was pretty nice our experience quickly turned sour when we were served a raw burger, the portions were absolutely tiny for dinner, prices were outrageous for the tasteless and bland food they served. Even there dessert that tasted decent we asked and turned out to be frozen! Our server was absolutely the best part, but was running around doing all of the work, serving multiple tables AND cleaning all of them, as well as running the food! While the other workers were behind the bar laughing and joking around. NEVER GOING BACK! You have lost our business forever and hope to make sure to tell everyone not to waste there money or risk getting food poison from here!

We stayed at the hotel this past Saturday night for my birthday and decided to have dinner here instead of going out. I’m so glad we did! The food was wonderful, and the service was excellent! Our server was so sweet and even remembered by the end of our dinner that I couldn’t have dairy, so she gave me a huge strawberry with my chocolate cake since I couldn’t have whipped cream. I would definitely recommend this place!
Outstanding service and good food. Portion size was a little small and prices a bit high compared to similar restaurants.
My wife and I went for dinner recently, while staying at the Tutwiler hotel in Birmingham (which is where this restaurant is). Things started off okay; the decor is nice and our server (Sharon G) was very nice. We ordered cocktails, which were good. The food, however, was terrible. My wife ordered seared blackened salmon, which was undercooked. I had a grilled pork chop, which was overcooked. It tasted like the leather sole of a shoe. It was like the PC had been sitting for hours and was just reheated. Cost was $70, plus tip. I can't imagine this place will be open for too long.
Great service and excellent cocktails! Locally owned and operated. Offers upscale dining options that can accommodate large groups!
A separate bar and food entity apart from Hilton's Hampton brand located perfectly in the downtown area. The staff are amazing and give off a great vibe. Drinks options were plentiful. Although they are a separate business from the Hampton, you can access the bar via the Hotel....
The beauty of the hotel lounge is everyone gets to play the role of designated drinker. I don't think you'll find a better place in Birmingham to tip back a few glasses than Six Sixteen. Front of the house manager Leonard (co owner) could not possibly run a friendlier establishment. This is a family affair with his wife, Chef Beverly (co owner) running the kitchen and daughter Olivia keeps the bar. My lovely traveling companion and I stopped by every night we stayed at the historic Tutwiler for cocktails before retiring to our room. The bar and its clients immediately welcomed us into their "Cheers like" situation so by the second night both fellow guests and staff knew our names. Contacts were made both personally and professionaly that will be fun and interesting to maintain in the future. This Hilton property (Hampton Suites) should feel lucky to have this establishment operating within their property.
