This place is amazing! My favorite taco place for sure! I hardly get to come because I don’t live in the area, but when I am near by I make sure to stop. I literally tell everyone about this place who isn’t familiar with it. The tacos are so good and the enchiladas omg.
The chef needs a kiss.

This place was wonderful!
The food was authentic, the service was fast, friendly, and genuine. One of the truly great hole-in-the wall finds of my lifetime.
If you find yourself near Birmingham, especially in the northern region near Center Pounte, stop by for lunch or dinner (sadly they do not serve breakfast, but I'll net it would also be amazing). You will not regret it!

I absolutely love eating here. The food is 100% authentic. I'm Mexican myself so I have full authority to say this food is delicious. The meat is perfect, taste and texture. I go for the tacos and gorditas, but I've pretty much tried all the food there and I can say they have no downfalls. The menudo is so yummy. The horchata is divine. I recommend it all. The only caveat is that it's far from the Birmingham area about 30 min from my home in Vestavia Hills.

I was impressed immediately upon entering Taqueria Tagoya by the large open dining area and healthfully thoughtful spacing of tables. It wasn’t very much decorated in the dining room but the smiling efficient and effective and friendly service was all in all fantastic and the food was not only frigging delicious it was not expensive especially considering the size and quality being so hot freshly made high quality and authentic . It is doubleplusgood ., and, the food came to us hot beautiful, and quickly.,

Food was super authentic and NOT a cheese blob like “typical American Mexican”. There was flavor and a choice of normal condiments like cilantro, pickled onions, onions, cucumber & sauces.
They have beer and other “softer” drinks.
Recommended, but not that fancy experience. Way cheaper than a flight to Mexico to get the local vibe.

Been eating at Tafoya for years as well as any and all other Mexican around bham . I would probably say it is the best of any Mexican restraunt . Meat is finely diced with great flavor . Can’t get much better
