Our experience at The Yard was set up perfectly by the Maitre D. She was lovely and provided great recommendations! Side note ... the mussels were good BUT not spicy as titled!😉

When we sat down no one came by to help us other than drop off a water for 10 mins so we left.

Food was good. However, my breakfast was a very small serving.

So we went there for a weekend in Birmingham for my wife's birthday. We immediately sat down and was greeted by a lady who clearly was not a server. We never had a direct server for our table the entire time. It took a while to get our drinks as well as appetizers and a salad took almost an hour into service to get the biggest problem though was the quality of food. My wife got a $58 steak that had no flavor. My best friend got a pork chop that literally tasted like it had shake and bake on it. My chicken piccata was underwhelming as well. The only thing that was good were the alcoholic drinks. But for the value and what you would have expected from a nice restaurant was not worth it and we will never go back

Service was incredibly slow from start to finish. We were seated quickly but it was a long wait for water, our order to be taken, and even after we called for the check. We even observed one party leave bc the wait for their order was so long. That being said, the food was delicious. It's unfortunate the long delays tarnished the experience.

Ran out of certain food. Everyone's food came out at different times to the table. Waited a long time for our food and some of the food was wrong.

Great food and environment. Really nice place to have brunch and actually be able to hear your friends! Service was a little slow, but we didn't care much, because we enjoyed everything else!

Loved everything about the experience except having to drive around for 30 minutes to find a parking space. Otherwise, it's a very nice restaurant.

The service was outstanding, but the food from the dinner menu was not good. It lacked seasoning and my meat was burned. I may try them again during brunch hours due to the amazing pictures online; I'm still debating.

We decided to eat dinner here after a long day at a trade show. We didn’t want to figure out where else to go and this was attached to the restaurant. As soon as the server came over we asked for a gluten free menu, she had no idea what that meant. In the middle of ordering her pen stoped working and she kept trying to write even thought it was out. We told her to stop and go get a new pen. The salads came out before our drinks from the bar. The $19 burger was fine, nothing to be priced the way it was. The fennel slaw was amazing. I could have eaten a whole bowl of that. We ordered another round of drinks before the check and again it took 20 minutes to get those. One thing that was really weird when she brought the check usually it doesn’t have anything for the tip; this check they wanted the tip to put it at the same time they ran the card.

If they wanted a high end restaurant then they need high end staff, their current employees were definitely not that.

Very disappointed in the Marriott for not having good management in their restaurant The Yard. Very poor management. The staff was very pleasant but it felt like it was the first day on the job for all of them. Didn't know the dinner menu or where or if they had types of beer or wine. Took at least 20 minutes to get a drink. The staff in The Yard needs much more training which management should have recognized. Food was okay.

My mom and I were here for a pre-concert dinner. We waited at the host stand for about 5 minutes before someone came up and sat us (fine--I'm a restaurant server so i get it) --- we got sat to a table with dirty silverware (THE DIRT WAS CLEARLY VISIBLE) --- it took about 10 minutes for the server/bartender to come over and give us water --- then another 10 for an actual server --- my mom got the burger and i got the mussels and grilled oysters .. my mom loved her burger, while my oysters and mussels were nasty (literally just oysters and bacon bits) (the mussels smelled AND had an unseasoned red broth)--- so i got wings instead. Candace was nice, but overall-- absolutely not.

The service and food were excellent. The restaurant is quiet & elegantly appointed. The menu is pretty basic although the food was tasty. They need to add more green vegetables to the menu as well as other fish options. (Salmon was the only fish entree.) If you want steak you will not be disappointed. For the appetizers, be sure to try the hummus and fried oysters
