Charming and lovely. We had a delicious meal in a delightful atmosphere. The food was well presented.

Overall very nice experience at The Yard. Service was just a little slower than I would have liked for the amount of people dining, but not a serious complaint. Server was very nice, and the food was excellent.

It was an absolute disaster. Our table was not ready when we arrived even though multiple tables were availble. When we were seated 15 minutes late, the staff did not get our drink orders until I got their attention. After that, the wait staff took another couples order before ours. This was despite the fact that they arrived after us. We left shortly thereafter. I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone!

The food was mediocre for the price, the ambience was stunning, however I would suggest some soft music for background noise it felt like a library. The drinks were nothing to write home about and it took them 30 mins to bring me a drink.

Chef Adam came out and told us about the food, talked about his experience and truly seemed to want feedback about our meal. Everything was well prepared and tasted great.

Here is my note to the restaurant. As of 24 hours later, I have not received a response: My family and I just had Christmas dinner at your restaurant. To say it was disappointing is perhaps an understatement. While we had made a reservation over a week ago, the restaurant was out of several items or the items we did receive were not as advertised on your Christmas menu. For the appetizer, there was only the butternut squash bisque as an option. The bisque was not topped with crème fresh and pepitas - but had chives sprinkled on top. We asked our waiter...he went off to check - and never returned. We had to ask for bread multiple times before it was provided - after the soup course was finished. My husband ordered coffee and we also had to ask for it multiple times. Additionally, our water went unfilled until we flagged down a waiter. The waiter came back after we had ordered and told us the entrees we ordered were no longer available. We heard him tell another table beside us less than 5 minutes later that one of that entree was available. The dessert was also not as advertised. We all ordered the apple beignets, which were not Apple, but dough with a chocolate drizzle. And they were cold and tough. We were never asked if we wanted another cocktail during our meal. For the price of this meal ($75/person) we were very unsatisfied with the experience. I recognize it's Christmas, and we did not make a scene in the restaurant because we didn't want to make someone's Christmas Day terrible who is working on a holiday. Had we had another option, we would have celebrated at home, but that wasn't a possibility this year. With that said, I was hoping for a very nice and experience with my family - your restaurant did not deliver. What you could have done differently: Identified substitutions proactively to provide options. Opened up the menu with some of your regular items. Discounted the meal because it wasn't as advertised.

Wonderful Christmas afternoon meal. Stuffed quail was delicious. My husband had salmon and I had maple glazed ham. For dessert he had cheesecake and I had apple beignets. Service was exceptional and we loved visiting with the chef. Definitely recommend.

Our Christmas Day dining experience was impeccable, from the food to the service. Chef Adam and all of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The butternut squash bisque and the short ribs were yummy!

We opted to have our Thanksgiving dinner at The Yard. Upon arrival we found out the heat was out, it was FREEZING. Everyone had to dine in their heavy coats. Our hope was that a nice hot meal would warm us up. NOPE. Our dinner came out cold and looked (mashed potatoes) like it was plated in advance. One last try at a something hot, we order coffee with dessert. Strike three. This was our first and last visit to The Yard.

Service was slow, in spite of not being busy, bread should have been warmed, food should be serviced hot. Waiter was very attentive, over all did not feel value for our money.

Don't waste your time or money with The Yard. Yes it's attached to a Marriott Hitel, but we expected way more than we received. We mistakenly thought that this place would be a good place for Thanksgiving dinner for our family of five. What a mistake that was. They offered a limited menu with four dishes to choose from, with a choice of salad and dessert. It was a set price at $65 per person. We choose to dine here based off of the menu and some reviews. Upon arriving the building was cold and the few customers that were in the bar area were wearing jackets. From the hostess that wasn't confident in her roll and soft spoken, she sat us at a table. The entire room was cold. Once waited on, the server was slow. Mind you there were only six other guest in the dining area while we were there. (Probably a sign) We had to ask for rolls and side dishes. The rolls were still frozen. Once our meal came to the table, the presentation was absolutely horrible. The meals appeared as if they were prepared and plated the day prior. Lamb shank or salmon should not be prepared the day prior. Everything was salty. Our caesar salads were served with our cheese and on warm plates. The only thing that was half way decent was desert. That's probably because we couldn't stomach the main course. This place is under managed. The cook staff didn't look like they belonged there, the food was pre cooked, and the staff was struggling. Do not waste your time or money at this establishment. Even if your passing through Birmingham.

Party of 6 for brunch. Reservations were made at least a week in advance. Seems there were only 2 servers and 1 bartender on staff. The wait was long (20+ minutes) for drinks, and we had to flag someone down to ask for water and soda refills. My burger was good, but it came out about 5 minutes after the others' food arrived, which was awkward.

Extremely disappointed-waited at the front for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged despite having a reservation. After being told that someone would be up front to greet us we waited another 15 minutes before finally receiving a suggestion from a staff member to go to another restaurant. There appeared to only be 3 small parties seated at tables and 2 people at the bar. If there are challenges with availability of wait staff or kitchen staff management needs to stop accepting reservations and/or actually close. Very poor customer service.

Rochelle

Horrible service all the way around! Staff seemed inadequate to manage our two large party/tables - yet no other customers were in dining area?

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here. Great service, stylish setting, fabulous bread pudding! The seasonal pasta was fantastic! Great steak. Will definitely come back!
