Zach was our server. This guy! He greeted us. He gave helpful suggestions. He checked on us but not too much to be a bother. I think the lady (possibly owner?) also came over and asked if we were ok. Lastly another gentleman came over and offered my friend and I refills as we sat and chatted. Oh the pizza and antipasto salad was delicious!

I've never been to Chicago, so I don't know about how authentic it is, but the pizza is delicious and everybody was super friendly to us and I will definitely be coming back! The pizza, so good. Oh yeah, I like the atmosphere and everything is very clean.

I will tell you right now, that I wanted so bad to give the Tortuguas (Hoover) Restaurant more stars!! I just couldn't.?? I dipped in to grab the lunch special. My issue was that the food just wasn't good. I've read so many good reviews, but when I tell you that the Lasagna was so bland.?? Actually, the pasta part wasn't good. It was so doughy.? I picked the meat off of it and ate that. The cheese pizza was just OK! So, I am wondering did I just go at a bad time?? What was really the problem? Should I try the downtown location?????

We love coming here each week to get pizzas to go. The service is outstanding and the pizzas are always amazing! The owners are the sweetest and love getting to talk to them each time I come in to pick out order up.

Fast and friendly service. The quality of pizza served here makes it obvious that they have taken the time to perfect their craft. This is definitely superior to the average pizza chain.

Holy hell...Glad this place is in Birmingham and not Chicago, it would have been ran out of Chicago a long time ago. Sauce was watery and bland, toppings were not par cooked and still raw in the pie, crust had no personality, whole thing needed another 10 minutes in the over. Dominos manages to get more flavor out of a pizza. Would not be surprised if Burt came and haunted this place for the shame.

This was the best thing I ever had. I can still taste it even after 2 days. Yummy

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. It did not disappoint. Even though they were very busy for a weeknight, Staff were friendly and the quality of the pizza was amazing. Locals really seem to like this place so that’s usually a good sign. First… the smell when you walk in is delicious! The quality of the ingredients makes a difference. I only tried the Chicago stuffed pizza. Excited to bring the family back to try more.

Good pizza...crust not exactly deep dish - more like a regular crust they are using for deep dish/Chicago style but still good. Recommend to stop by...very satisfied.

First time here and it was great!!! Server was also great and never missed a beat. Met the owner and his wife when leaving and they are really nice people.

Great as always! If deep dish is not your thing the lasagna is excellent. Also try the Mexican pizza. I swap out the black olives for pepperoncini peppers

My son was playing in a baseball tournament in Hoover, and there was a lengthy rain delay. We took the opportunity to try Torguas Pizza, which is a short drive from the Hoover Metro complex. The deep dish, Chicago pizza was wonderful. There's a video on the restaurant's website showing them assembling one of these deep dish pizzas. It's almost like a calzone. Definitely worth a visit!
