My family and I dined at Turtugas before a Barons baseball game, and we couldn’t have been more pleased! Our server was knowledgeable about both the food and the beer, and she helped my daughter search the “license plate walls” for one from Tennessee. We wanted to try both the deep-dish and the Chicago thin style pizza, and were pleased to discover that we could order both “by the slice”. The slices are huge, and I’m happy to report that both were perfectly traditional and absolutely delicious! Great beer selection, too. We’ll definitely be making Tortugas a must-visit any time we’re in town!

The ONLY authentic Chicago deep dish and thin crust in Alabama. My partner is from Chicago and I’ve visited countless times - this is the real deal! The thin crust is crunchy and cut perfectly. The deep dish sauce is sweet the way it should be. The service is always amazing and I stop in every time I’m in Birmingham. Their pizza is better than some places IN Chicago! There are two parking spots out front and there is also street parking.
