Super fun retro arcade/bar. Bartenders are super friendly. They have outdoor games too. Can’t wait to come back!!

Was visiting from out of town this past June, and had gotten word of a discounted pizza slice there after the Barons game. I gotta say the pizza slice was massive and delicious, and I now know why I had what seemed like an unending mountain of tokens for $20 - tokens are 10¢ on Thursdays! I couldn't even keep track of how many games I played for a few hours, I ended up having to dump my remaining pile of tokens on someone that just came in.. Beer selection was amazing and the glasses were tall, chilly and delicious. Highly recommended after a Barons game, or anytime, really..!

For those of us who grew up with arcade culture, the sounds of the place is going to be music to your ears. There are tons of classics I haven't played since college in the 80's. The bartenders are friendly and the space is fantastic. Despite what the business says on their website, all games are not 25 cents, some are 50. Not a big deal, but why lie about pricing? Where they fall down is food service. There's no salads, sandwiches or custom orders, just a rotating selection of 6 pizzas to choose from. Even with the limited menu it took an hour for our party to get 10 slices that were ordered at the same time. Some was premade and came up immediately but they were out of the pizza needed for 3 slices and said it would take 10 minutes... no big. After 20 minutes we go back to the window and they said they made the wrong pizza and to come back in another 20. We go back and they had two of the missing slices but still didn't have the 3rd and the guy says he'll bring it right out to the table. After another 20 minutes, we go back to the window where the missing slice is just sitting there spinning on a warmer. It's not like we were hard to find as we were at a table ten feet from the pizza window and the place was pretty empty. The pizza itself is okay, on par with a mall food court or convenience store. With Tortugas next door and a ton of solid pizzerias around town, these guys are going to have a hard time establishing themselves as a destination for food. Clearly their focus is games and adult beverages so keep that in mind. The true highlight is the outside bar area with repurposed shipping containers being used as multi-level seating. Very cool space. Shots come in balls of ice which is fun. After downing your shot, you can throw your empty ice ball at a target to win another shot on the house. I understand that verifying age is part of being a responsible vendor but Up Down has zero need to scan the front and back of every ID coming into the building. I recognize the scanner being used and the system can record the name and address of everyone coming in the door. That's a huge security risk and privacy concern for patrons and should be carefully considered before choosing to do business with Up Down.
