All I can say is "WOW"!!! Had the happy hour charcuterie, grilled cheese trio, scallop small plate and the pork trio main dish. Yes please!!!

This place was an excellent choice. The ingredients were locally sourced and the flavors were paired perfectly. The truffle fries were to die for and the soft serve ice cream is made in house and has excellent flavor. The staff was friendly and responsive.

Mac and his team have really hit it out of the park with this restaurant. The food is amazing, eclectic, and absolutely unlike anything else you've ever had. The presentation is beautiful and the decor is refreshing. Thanks for a great experience! We will be back...many times!

You order at the counter. Before you sign the ticket or get your food it asks if you want to leave a tip? For what? It's no different than ordering Burger King. Got a $12 hamburger that came came with no side, no fries, no pickle!

Came here for Birmingham restaurant week. $35 for a three course dinner. It was freaking amazing. All of there food had so much flavor and so many different textures. Each dish felt like they were crafted to perfecrionot just food slipped on a plate. Started off with a braised short rib steamed bao with a very tangy side green apple side salad. It was extremely delicious. The bao was soft and warm, the short rib inside full of rich meaty flavor. The side salad had a bit of a spicy kick with a bit of sweet and tart green apple, the sourness of pickled vegetables, and the brightness of some citrus sauce. There was the textures of the soft bao and the crunch of the salad. Just a delightful start. The main course was the fried chicken over grits, little tomatoes, and a small succotash. Wow. The chicken was perfectly cooked - tender but still juicy, the crust still crunchy on the outside without any sogginess from sitting on the grits. Clearly the food was brought out quickly after it was made. The grits and the succotash was also very flavorful. I was very impressed. Finally I ended with the hummingbird cake. I loved the little beads of chocolates and the bright pops of mango passion gel capsules. The crunch of the coconut definitely added texture to this already delicious cake too. A very delicious dessert to finish out the meal. The service was great too. The waiter was great and just very personable. This place has a brunch menu too and I'll have to check it out!

We enjoyed lunch at the Whistling Table. Service was quick, inviting and friendly. The interior is modern, sleek with clean lines, however, the use of natural wood adds warmth. The lunch menu is innovative, yet familiar and well prepared. I enjoyed my time here and the food. I would love to get by for dinner service one evening.

Located in Forest Park Village, Whistling Table makes for a great casual brunch spot or a cute dinner date destination. The setting is modern and trendy (think dark colored walls, tufted chairs, and gold flatware). While the restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, it still manages to feel cozy and intimate. If the thought of having to parallel park makes you cringe, then fear not - they have a dedicated parking lot too. Menu: Everything tasted bright and fresh. Drink: Highly recommend the "Great White Buffalo" and the "Bushwacker" cocktails. Food: Sharing a small and large plate along with dessert is just enough for two people. They will split the dishes for you- just ask! We tried the Yardbird (small plate) and split the Pork entree (large plate) and it was plenty. For dessert, we had the Baked Alaska. The combination of the fluffy and light browned meringue, cool strawberry sorbet, and warm cake (they light the meringue with a torch at the table if you're looking for "wow" factor) was absolutely delicious. Side note- everything was plated beautifully. Will definitely return to try their other menu offerings!

The cherry on top of this 5-star review is how gorgeous the decor of the entire property, inside and out. Before we even get to the food, the service, Richard and Arianee were just phenomenal. I rarely leave google word heavy reviews, but as a native of Birmingham, this spot is now easily among my favorites. The food and drinks are solid. Pictures are as above.

I have not had the food. However, the bar experience is excellent. The decor is relaxing and the drinks are great. Sit back and have a discussion about the history of an Old Fashioned or a Sazerac. In the meantime, be amazed as they whip up some of their signature cocktails or ask about something not on the menu. You will enjoy your experience.

The waitress and waiter were very friendly. The food was delicious and fresh from the farm. The menu was so creative with delicious choices like corn soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Ice cream was delicious with different toppings to put on top. My granddaughter highly recommended the kids meal with ice cream to go with it. She liked the dark chocolate and white chocolate toppings. I'm so proud of Mac Russell for establishing such a friendly, cozy, creative restaurant that serves delicious food. I ate lunch this time. I hope to enjoy dinner next time and hopefully see my former student Mac Russell.

Travis, was EXCELLENT! The atmosphere was comfortably trendy and interpersonal. We started with the scallop. Then moved to the lamb which my partner noted was well prepared. I had the pork. The dessert was my favorite part... strawberry gelato and lemon curd on a vanilla cake covered with marshmallows=YUM! I highly recommend this place for any occasion!

I've officially had brunch , lunch and dinner from this great establishment! It just dawned on me!! I really like Whistling Table. Everything about this place , I'm pleased. I've seen reviews where people complain about price and decor but I disagree because I feel like you pay for the quality of food you are getting and of course the atmosphere compliments the food! From the MacDaddy burger for lunch , the simple salad for brunch , oyster sampler and fish for dinner - you can't go wrong! This is another forest park jewel you must try! Excellent extension of the Shindig's food truck !

Came here for a brunch one Sunday. The atmosphere is very clean, modern, and open. I really appreciated all of the decor and art in the restaurant. We were seated as soon as a table was cleaned off. The service was very good throughout. I had the Mamacita to drink and it was extremely tasty while offering a kick of tequila that will wake you up in the morning. I ordered Huevos Benedict for my entree. It had delicious fried oysters and Canadian bacon as part of the dish. The eggs were cooked to perfection and provided a delicious sauce to the benedicts. Overall a great, hip restaurant with a nice patio right off Clairmont Avenue.
