Deep South BBQ And Soul Food

On my way into work in the morning I noticed a gentleman getting the BBQ going, so I made a decision that I wanted to have barbecue today for lunch. Went in very simple easy menu to read off of and to pick your items. I had the Leg Quarter chicken with baked beans and Cajun corn. All the food was delicious and the barbecue sauce was warm which was an Good Surprise. The baked beans were flavorful, the Cajun corn had the right amount of kick to it, but not too hot. The chicken was smoked to perfection, the skin was amazing and the meat was very moist and perfectly cooked. The staff were very nice, knowledgeable on the menu and all the ingredients in the food, I felt very welcomed there and it looked like they have a lot of repeat locals. They offer an outdoor seating area that covered up, I took my meal to eat at work, and from the moment I walked in with my food, everyone wanted to know where I got that good smelling food from, I told them the Deep South BBQ. As they have written on their wall “Put Some South In Yo Mouth!” It’s worth a stop!

Oh my word I've never had such a tasty Tater in my life
Only on Wednesday's do they have the loaded barbecue baked sweet potato Wilton little spicy jalapeno chips oh so much butter and way too much pork for one person's face

It's worth it you better count on it

I was told it would change my life and I attempted to call BS

After the first bite of that beautiful sweet potato covered in All That Barbecue sauce I was never the same

Lady said 13$ for BBQ and I did tap pay, got home and she had did a 3.97$ tip without asking and permission. Owner said he'd give it back, will update when I go back

This Lil spot was on my way home from work. So I was stoked to have a BBQ joint I could stop and grab a bite if I didn't feel like cooking. And thankfully the food was good! So I'm winning, one might say. My only issue was that I stopped here five times but only ate twice. They were closed for some reason. I even looked at the hours posted for a third time to make sure I wasn't misreading something. Other customers came up as I was standing there confused. This occurred three times and it was the last place to grab a bite en route home. Unfortunately, when I was hungry, I would stop elsewhere to eat instead of risking going hungry or having to cook after a ten hour day. So to put it simply the food is worth it, but I would not risk driving there or go out of the way on the chance they may be closed. If it wasn't for that I would have given another star.

I have heard their food is exceptional, so I drove 40 minutes with my grandson to give them a try. I arrived at 3:00 and they close at 5:30. The staff said almost all the meat was gone and many of the sides. Totally unacceptable. I doubt I will ever give them a try again.

So, every time we visit family in Alabama we try to visit as many BBQ restaurants we can. As the owner of Horseshoe BBQ Sauce in South Florida we like to try different styles of smoked meats and a variety of sauces. I can tell you Deep South BBQ did not disappoint. As soon as we walked through the door we were met with true hospitality, Josh was very friendly and very accommodating. My wife had the daily special that consisted of a turkey sandwich and coleslaw, she loved it. I had the smoked pulled pork with bbq beans and collards, it was absolutely the best we’ve had on this trip. I will definitely recommend Deep South BBQ to all my family members. Keep up the great food and “Keep on Smokin’”.
