The Tin Top Restaurant & Oyster Bar

First time for lunch in the new location. 4 in our party. New restaurant is beautiful and views are great! That is where it ends. Server was the worst at any restaurant since being in Fairhope for 5 years. No introduction of her name, just what do you want to drink? We should have left at this point. I asked about the daily specials and she acted like I asked for a free meal. She did go check and said grouper sandwich and pastrami on rye. Then I asked if the wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese, she said No, but it can added for an extra charge. I told her No and ordered the fried shrimp plate with fried green tomatoes and Caesar salad. Partner ordered fried fish plate with fried green tomatoes and lima beans. Father in laws partner ordered the fried shrimp plate with fried green tomatoes and fried okra. Father in law ordered the fried fish plate, fried green tomatoes and wedge salad. The wedge salad was the saddest salad, one small red onion, a sliver of shredded cheese and 3 cherry sized tomatoes. Server spilled the dressing on the table and asked her twice for a towel to wipe it up. He had a hard time hearing due to an ear infection. He asked the server to change the wedge salad to Caesar salad and the roll of the eyes was the point where I knew we would never return to this restaurant. There are too many restaurants in Baldwin County that have top notch customer service and food is hot and enjoyable. Nothing was consistent. Two of us received two fried green tomatoes. One did not receive the side of fried green tomatoes and one received only one fried green tomato. When we inquired, server brought out the missing sides in two separate trips. I received one hush puppy with my shrimp plate and the other order of shrimp plate did not get any. That’s was okay as it was fried to dark brown and was awful. I told her she did not miss out. It took over one hour for our food and temperature was mediocre. Staff clearly was not happy as they were telling a guy in a pink shirt that they keep getting shocked as resetting a plug. He showed his crabbiness and went out to the outside area to look. Not sure it was a manager or an owner, but he was not happy. Appearance and customer service is everything. We have no plans to revisit. Original Oyster House, Wolf Bay Lodge, Shrimp Basket has extremely well customer service and the food is hot and enjoyable!

Best food on the Gulf!!!!

The food is delicious. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is relaxing, comfortable. Location beautiful.

We were at Tin Top last week on our family vacation and had a phenomenal experience!!! The oysters are absolutely fantastic. All of them!!! Our service was prompt and dead on. We have eaten there for the past few years when we vacation and it keeps getting better. One of the best meals I have had in a long time.

We enjoyed appetizers and drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. Fortunately it was not as long as we were told.
Sat outside and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great service.
I went to the original Tin Top fifteen years ago when my dad asked a local where to go. My family returned after my dad passed to toast a great man who enjoyed his family and delicious food.
Will definitely be back.

Place was so full we couldn't get in for an hour. Parking lot is terrible. It's a gravel lot with more pot holes than gravel. It was raining, and there were puddles up to 20 feet wide. Some were deep enough to knock your front end out of alignment.

Sorry to not recommend Tin Top because we’ve visited the old location for many years. Today’s visit was unacceptable and there are too many other good places in the area. They were not busy. We ordered Tin Top grilled oysters as an appetizer as soon as we sat down. We told the waitress that we’d wait to order our lunch since we did not want our food to come out before the appetizer. After about 30 minutes, we assumed the oysters would be there any minute, and went ahead and ordered. Our food was at the table within 10 minutes but still no oysters. Finally, after 45 minutes, and we’d finished eating, the oysters made it to our table. They were not what we ordered and actually the Dirty Dozen instead. The oysters, broiled fish, and crab cakes had so much pepper or blackening seasoning, we could not eat! The manager came to the table and said “sorry it took 45 minutes for your oysters” but did not offer to discount them a penny! Very disappointed!

This is always our favorite seafood place when we come to Gulf Shores! Great food,great service and great atmosphere! Love the new location ❤️

My favorite place to eat. The new location offers indoor and outdoor seating and service is always top notch. The chocolate raspberry creme brulee' is awesome. The oysters Margaret are the best around. Enjoy.

Honestly just not great.. The carbonated drink I ordered didn’t taste carbonated and definitely wasn’t a Dr. Pepper. My meal came out before my appetizer. The wait time was over an hour. Not great overall. Kudos for the shrimp and grits, however.

First visit for lunch and we truly enjoyed the staff, atmosphere and the food!! Beth was a fantastic server. Can’t wait to return again.

Stopped in for a drink last night after a very, very long day..came in to visit some family-iykyk…and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and hospitality I received from Brittany! I’ve never felt more welcome at an establishment. She completely turned my night upside down in the best of ways. She was knowledgeable, quick, but in a way where you didn’t feel rushed. Like just another tab to close. After having a drink, and enjoying some positive chats, i left happy and rejuvenated, ready to go back to my crazy family with a positive attitude and good vibes. Thank you tin top but most importantly thank you BRITTANY for making my night, my visit, my week! I cant wait to come back!!!

Was in the area visiting a friend .. we went to this place for a chill night .. Brittany the bartender couldn’t be any more nicer and welcoming .. definitely an asset to the restaurant and when in town again will be going back to visit her.
