One of the highlights of my childhood was going with my mom to the Jade Buddha Chinese restaurant in Alexandria, VA. I love Chinese food. Tonight my son and I were deciding which Chinese restaurant we wanted to try. We were both disappointed the last time we went out for Chinese. So I looked at reviews of other local Chinese and the reviews from Happy Dragon in Calera caught my attention and that’s what we chose. It was excellent, excellent, excellent. The egg rolls were the best I’ve had; very crisp. The portions of our meal were huge and the presentation was fantastic….the freshness, the amount, the taste….best I have seen, and tasted, anywhere. Definitely 5-star worthy! I wish I had taken a picture of our plates! We had Sweet ‘n Sour Chicken and Mongolian Beef.

Too expensive for the quality and quantity of the food! I really don't like doing non positive reviews, but what I'm going to say is that we personally weren't impressed or satisfied with that particular visit! It was our first and unfortunately our last time. Customer service was just fine tho. It was just the food that was pleasing. The sweet n sour sauce was very watery and not thick & syrup like consistency. The egg drop soup had ALL kinds of everything in it including chicken. Also, it didn't seem to me it had the same broth base. It seemed like water instead. The seaseame chicken wasn't particularly good. It wasnt terrible either. I guess it was just all sub par.... Sorry you guys!

Could have been 5 stars, but a $2 tip that I didn't give was added to my take out receipt. It's the principle regardless of the size of the tip. Won't be back. I prefer Yan Express in Hoover anyway.

The service was good, the food was good. Would have given a five star but the salad was bagged and not the best, still good though. Liked the creamy ginger dressing and the steak was cooked perfectly. Will go back again.

Decided to try it for dinner, I should have went with my gut feeling.
Mongolian Beef=horrible!! It looked boiled beef in liquid onion soup. Sweet & Sour soup, let’s just say don’t get it. Kids chicken nuggets and fries, don’t waste your $, they won’t eat it either.
Fortune cookies for $60 is what I ate for dinner.

A good half Chinese and half Japanese restaurant. I really liked the fact that their ginger salad dressing was a creamy version.
