“I grew up in a time when there was only one Wintzell’s Oyster House and it was certainly a special place to go, even when I lived 100 miles away. I had to give this location a try as I was staying at a hotel right down the road.

I went there late and was promptly seated. I ordered the Broiled J. O. Platter with a side salad. The fresh salad came out right away. It wasn’t long before the entree appeared. Oh my goodness! All of it was tasty and fit well within my calorie budget.

Once again, Wintzell’s made a positive impression on me!”

“The staff at this location was AMAZING! Especially CHRIS! He was fast, friendly, and efficient and advised me on Costco shopping. Expert in coffee, food, great customer service -while also a master in bargain shopping. Loved his energy and personality! The young lady taking my order was friendly and had a wonderful smile and great customer service. The young man making my coffee spoke to me and was genuinely nice and made an amazing iced latte. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and a breakfast wrap- all delicious and hot! Clean location. Relaxing. 10/10 recommend! The staff made this location! Again, 10/10 recommend! Chris you ARE now my friend sir! You can’t be the energy you are without attracting others in life. Keep being you sir! I’ll be back again when in town because of you and the staff there. Thanks!”

“My husband and I went for his birthday dinner. It was our first time there. It was great food and service! It was no wait. Our waitress, Cat, did a wonderful job! She was very courteous, friendly, and helpful! She made sure we were satisfied with everything. The food was delicious! When I asked what she recommended that was good she said she loved the Tacos de Carne Asada. It didn’t take long for us to get our food. My husband tried the Tacos de Carne Asada and wasn’t disappointed! He loved it! I had the steak and rice. All of the food was delicious! It was large portions, so we had food to take home. We both had mojitos, mine was strawberry and his was blue. They were so good! He had happy birthday sung to him for the first time in Spanish! He was very surprised! The desert was awesome! Our first experience was wonderful, and we will be coming back! Thank you so much for a great birthday dinner for my husband! Highly recommend!”

“We came for the first time after seeing the Nelson Barnyard Buffet cooking on WKRG. I saw succotash made on TV, I never had it before, so I came to try it. I liked it. I also tried rutabaga for the first time ever. The food is Southern Comfort Food, a good sized salad bar, & a desert bar. We came during lunch, restaurant was half full, we came from Mobile. Everything I had was great: Sweet Potatoes, Red Beans & Rice, Cornbread, Greens, Fried Fish, Catfish Nuggets. My sister got Fried Chicken, Masked Potatoes, Macaroni Salad. We both had the state desert of Alabama: Banana Pudding. I think they had Sweet Tea & Unsweetened Tea, we had Diet Dr Pepper. The service was awesome, bathrooms clean. If you do not want to eat in at the buffet, you can get a To Go Takeout Container to take with you. I think we spent about $42 for two people with a tip. It was worth fighting traffic in Mobile to drive out here. We will probably be back.”

“My experience at this particular location is always great the servers are very kind and the food is really good.. But tonight on Sunday December 19,2021 wasn't their best. I normally get the cheesesteak melt with hashbrowns I ask if they would pretty please leave the bacon with no weight. Unfortunately the food tonight was terrible the hashbrowns were cold in the middle an the bacon looked like beef Jerky ha ha !! However my server told the cook my order correctly an was very kind an helpful.. I normally don't complain but I always get great service here .. I hope their better next time!! “Top notch service! Very easy going on the call for order pick up. Friendly and patient ensuring my order was correct. Upon arrival added a side of noodles and they easily accommodated. They didn't hold back on sauce packets when we ordered extra.

The food is fresh and delicious. Veggies were a bit soggy but probably from being kept hot in the closed container. Not a take away. Still great tasting food. I ordered dumplings steamed not pan fried and they were amazing.

There was more than plenty of food for the price. I will definitely return... maybe a couple times while in the area.”
