San Marcos Mexican Restaurant

Update... started going back last month. The steak tacos and chili relleno are so good we have made this a twice weekly date night. Keep up the great service.

I haven't been to Valley Grande yet because it's been so busy, but I can promise you I will wait for 2 hours to get their food if I want Mexican again because I will NOT go back to San Marcos after the way I was just talked to and yelled at when I VERY KINDLY explained that the wrong ticket/order was given to my mother in law. He yelled over me while I was trying to explain the situation and told me that it was her fault and that this is what she ordered .... she literally said "chicken, cheese, and rice." This plate doesn't have either of those things. What we got was tortillas, some kind of substance that I think is supposed to resemble meat, and a ton of onions. Not even remotely close, and then *I* got yelled at by someone working in customer service when I was trying to very politely, as if speaking to someone I work for or a patient I was caring for, explain that it seemed that they accidentally grabbed the wrong ticket and bag ... My husband heard the entire conversation and after he couldn't take him yelling at me anymore he yelled over the man (because that was the only way he would hear him) that he didn't have to worry about it and that we would just make sure everyone knew how he just treated a customer. Hence this post. My husband is not one for confrontation, and he hates Facebook. So when he gets involved and tells me to make a post, you can rest assured it was bad enough that his line was crossed. To top it off, he asked her to get an order of salsa and chips, and the little cup they give it in is barely half filled ... and they charge for it, so at least get that right. I have ALWAYS been a supporter of San Marcos. Not anymore!!! Time to try Valley Grande!!

Food is much better at this San Marcos then the one in Millbrook.

We ordered 2 different chicken dishes, both had NO flavor except for the mild salsa I put on mine that came with the chips. Charging extra for sour cream on a taco salad was strange for sure. Service was good, food below average.

Overpriced Taco chicken salad, no flavor, shell with Lettuce and what could pass as Shredded chicken from a can with absolutely no seasoning or flavor. Service was acceptable but other than that a big zero. Chips and salsa okay.

We went tonight on a Tuesday and ordered the quesadilla rice and beans we got there at 7 o’clock. I had to go to the cashier and ask where our food was at 7:30. She brought it out in less than five minutes. The food was not that good tonight either.

Best tacos. Very reasonable price too.

Although our waiter was great, the food was not good. The rice was mushy and the chicken had zero flavor. Bland and definitely won’t go back
