San Marcos Mexican Restaurant

I just have to say 1 thing. The chimichangas are delicious. You guys have great food. Eating here feels so good. Definitely getting chimichangas every visit.

The food was very well prepared. The enchiladas supreme was excellent. The grilled with rice was perfect. The chicken fingers kids was great and large portion. The cheese dip is a must get item. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed the service and food. Ordered three soft tacos. They were huge. Mostly meat. Also Ordered an enchilada. It was ok. Be better if the meat had some seasoning like taco seasoning or salt. Cheese dip and salsa were good also.

Had no idea this place was under new ownership! But has the same feel as before. Food is even better now though! Service has went through the roof. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. My new fav restaurant in Clanton!!

Usually about as good as it gets but the last time I ate there the food was overcooked and pretty small portioned.
I'm sure it's not usual, maybe a new cook or something. But, either way, I regretted spending my hard earned money on that dish. I could have gotten a better meal at Taco Bell that day.

Update... started going back last month. The steak tacos and chili relleno are so good we have made this a twice weekly date night. Keep up the great service.

I haven't been to Valley Grande yet because it's been so busy, but I can promise you I will wait for 2 hours to get their food if I want Mexican again because I will NOT go back to San Marcos after the way I was just talked to and yelled at when I VERY KINDLY explained that the wrong ticket/order was given to my mother in law. He yelled over me while I was trying to explain the situation and told me that it was her fault and that this is what she ordered .... she literally said "chicken, cheese, and rice." This plate doesn't have either of those things. What we got was tortillas, some kind of substance that I think is supposed to resemble meat, and a ton of onions. Not even remotely close, and then *I* got yelled at by someone working in customer service when I was trying to very politely, as if speaking to someone I work for or a patient I was caring for, explain that it seemed that they accidentally grabbed the wrong ticket and bag ... My husband heard the entire conversation and after he couldn't take him yelling at me anymore he yelled over the man (because that was the only way he would hear him) that he didn't have to worry about it and that we would just make sure everyone knew how he just treated a customer. Hence this post. My husband is not one for confrontation, and he hates Facebook. So when he gets involved and tells me to make a post, you can rest assured it was bad enough that his line was crossed. To top it off, he asked her to get an order of salsa and chips, and the little cup they give it in is barely half filled ... and they charge for it, so at least get that right. I have ALWAYS been a supporter of San Marcos. Not anymore!!! Time to try Valley Grande!!

Food is much better at this San Marcos then the one in Millbrook.
