“We have a wheel chair bound member of our party. The staff knew exactly what her needs were without asking. Salad was chopped so for a change she didn't have to sit there like a child while someone at the table cut her salad. Bathroom was totally accessible. Food was delicious. Wonderful visit.”

“My husband and I often eat at the Metro Diner Trussville, AL location, because the food is excellent, and the staff is amazing. So, when he said he was going to order our Thanksgiving dinner from them, I was not surprised. And, y'all, it was EXCELLENT! A lot of food for a reasonable price, and everything tasted delicious. Plus there was plenty for leftovers. I know who we'll be having to cater our Christmas dinner. 😀”

“The absolute best!! We love Mr. West’s, can’t count how many times we’ve been since they opened! The food is always fresh and delicious, and comes so quickly! We have tried just about everything on the menu, and I’d recommend it all. My personal favorites are the shrimp tempura rice bowl, the spicy garlic noodles, the nachos, and the dumplings. “I’m not a coffee drinker. But a local chef(shout out to Whitney Simone!) I follow and patronize raved about Rochelle’s grit bowl, so I decided to try breakfast here. I wished that it was advertised that breakfast was sold here because I always thought this place was just a coffee spot. Anyway, I was sooooo impressed with the cuteness of the decor inside. It felt very cozy and intimate. Soft music played in the background. I love the branding on the cups and other merchandise for purchase. Upon entering, my friend and I were greeted warmly. We placed our orders and found a place to sit. The seats were comfy and a bright red that matched the theme of it also being a lounge. There was a little free library where you could take home a free book. There were several small tvs available to watch. Our food came out after a short wait. Yall….my grit bowl was absolutely splendid! The grits were creamy and perfect- not too thick, not too thin. The meats were delicious as were the eggs. My friend enjoyed his pancakes but also wanted to try the grit bowl after hearing me rave about mine. After he devoured his, he agreed that it was just as good as I told him it was. My peach smoothie came in this cute little sealed cup with the branding on it. I love a business that doesn’t skip on the branding! I enjoyed my experience here 100% and I’m even thinking of returning tomorrow morning for breakfast! One thing I would improve: I hope the owners consider advertising that they sell breakfast as well. Folks like me that may not be coffee drinkers but who love breakfast will gladly patronize the business…if we know they sell more than coffee. Overall, this place earned my 5 stars.”

“We stopped in for lunch,while visiting Trussville, Alabama. The establishment was clean and quite tidy even with the high volume of customers. We did enjoyed a delicious meal. My hubby ordered the Fat boy burrito and I two tacos(cheezy beef and redneck) both are served with chips and salsa. We each enjoyed a refreshingly tasty margarita, a perfect compliment to the meal. “Look this was never even supposed to end up being a review which is why you'll notice that all the food has been dug into lol. So a bit of back story I went to this restaurant quite a few years ago and my first experience was kind of meh. The burger was okay at best, the fries were extremely salty, and the lemonade was watered down. This place is called Gyros Cafe. Now about a month ago on a Friday just like today I was scrolling through Door Dash (I'm still boycotting Uber Eats) looking for something different to try and enjoy my Friday night (Disclaimer I did not eat all this in one sitting this was a meal I split for 2 days lol). Well I came across them and decided it's been a very long time since I've had them let's give them another try. So I did! Yall look here I sampled everything while it was hot and yes everything showed up piping hot. The bacon Cheeseburger was amazing flavors balanced cooked just right like honestly no notes. 9/10 The wings were shockingly good. At first glance you think oh overcooked. But they weren't! They were seasoned well with a great crunch and the ranch was killer! 8/10 I'm sure the mozzarella sticks are just frozen but idk what brand they use or they may actually make them fresh. Either way they were so good and everything I look for in a good mozzarella stick. The marinara sauce was pretty good too! 9/10 Lastly the seasoned cheese fries. Guys they weren't salty at all this time. Cheese could have been a bit better but it still gets a really good score of a 7.9/10 I highly recommend you go try Gyros Cafe in Chalkville/Trussville area. Whatever they have done from then to now they have done a complete 180 and whoever is in charge and working in that kitchen are doing a great job. Not gonna lie I want to order this again right now lol!”

“It was our first time at Umami. The server was very nice and helpful.

My wife wasn’t very hungry, and she not an adventurous eater, so she chose the ginger salad and the Pork Belly Taco. The server explained in advance that the taco would be very small, but my wife ordered it anyway. The taco was small and it was served in a cute small wooden holder. My wife said both were excellent and that the next time she just might order three or four of little tacos.

The special was the prices some of the sushi rolls on the regular menu were reduced to $11. So I paid $11 the Blazer Roll sushi instead of $17. It was composed of Avocado, cream cheese, crab, meat, etc. It was very good. I also had the Baked Crab Avocado. it was a half of an avocado baked in the skin and topped with some kind of crab meat mix with very thin cut strings of red and green Asian cabbage sprinkled over every thing. All excellent!

Everything was very nice and we will be back.

Parking: The restaurant is in the Trussville entertainment district and we parked in one of the parking slots. if those straight slots are already taken there is a huge free parking lot nearby.

Kid-friendliness: if you have kids, we don’t, you can sit outside and there is a kids playing area nearby. You can watch them as you eat.

Wheelchair accessibility: The Into our Trussville entertainment district is totally wheelchair assessable.”
