We heard good things about this place and we're really excited to try it. The Lady working the counter was not the friendliest to start with.The food is good, but not more than average. I assume there's only one choice of bbq sauce, because we weren't asked what kind we'd like, and i thought it was ketchup when I tasted it. Again, the food is good, just like any other bbq joint.
My favorite BBQ restaurant in Alabama hands down. I wish they would bottle their sauce. It's not the same as all the rest. Easy to eat without all the pepper and heat. Their fries and fried okra are awesome. I can never decide which to get. And then you have to decide do you want BBQ or a burger. The burgers are also great. Family atmosphere is nice. I wish they were in Birmingham. I'd eat there every week.
Our first time at Fat Man's was good. Order and pay at counter...get a number. We went on Saturday afternoon and waited over an hour on our food! Well....the cheeseburgers/burgers are excellent!!! The bbq is just ok. We will go back for the burgers! Nice atmosphere. Garbage cans were overflowing in the floor but they appeared short handed. That's not a surprise at all. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Pell City for sure.
