Stopped by today to meet a friend for lunch - great place! Food was very good, service was great, and staff friendly. I had the catfish plate and the filets are huge! Sadly I live more than 2 hours away from this restaurant. If I lived nearby I'd be a frequent customer for sure!

We were getting hungry when we saw smoke billowing from a smoker in a parking lot on the side of the road. That smoke is what drew us in to Bama Boys BBQ. We decided to split a brisket plate and three sides. The shredded brisket was very tender and really good, the accompanying sauce, sweet but not too. Unfortunately, the sides were hit and miss. Simple food. Their spicy sauce is the thing (it's not that spicy) and sweet sauce is not something any real bbq lover should ever use.My only comment is that I wish they had sliced brisket and not just chopped. But everyone enjoyed it. They were short staffed the day we went and the service was still good. You could tell that this place is a labor of love for the owner.Nothing fancy, but a decent meal all around.
