Absolutely flawless experience at the new R Bistro! The food is not only chef inspired, but every item was chef prepared. They did not miss a beat on food, service, and atmosphere. BBQ shrimp paired with their in house French bread will seriously impress! We will be returning asap.

First time trying this place but not the last time! Amazing food, service just a great experience!Dietary restrictions: Made every dish as ordered. Due to food allergies they were very accommodating.

You can't serve a Cajun southern shrimp/grits and it be in a pan and mostly shrimp/gravy. Their fish was far better. I can sadly only recommend them for drinks and appetizers. Hopefully will improve as time goes on.

The close up pic of the grits (fried to perfection) shows some of the smoked gouda cheese inside. Additionally, the shrimp were cooked perfectly — plump and juicy — while accompanied by a delightfully rich sauce and plenty of crawfish tail meat. Just enough spicy heat to leave the mouth tingly! ?Seldom do I comment on bread, but the crispy cracker crust and moist interior was ridiculously delicious with a little bit of butter! Got several desserts to go: a cupcake-size carrot cake, similarly minimalist cheesecake, and a peanut butter/chocolate mousse — all good and assembled with great attention to detail and all with fresh fruit, edible flowers, and/or sprigs of spearmint.Eric was very attentive and knowledgeable: plus he was eager to share his own personal menu favorites. Great location away from the “big city” of Fairhope — though inside the facility, future investment in some more sophisticated and effective interior lighting would be welcome (as would be a few “happy hour” options for earlybirds like us). Might also gently suggest tidying up the grounds with a good powerwashing for both the outdoor seating and entry areas — removal of multiple, unused wooden pallets and debris notwithstanding.Take home: first visit, looking forward to the next! ?Parking: Ample parking, though without direction arrows (or fresh paint on existing arrows), we drove in on the wrong side and had to maneuver around to get properly oriented. Slightly awkward.?

The food is delicious! Bread was fresh and the barbeque shrimp was the best I ever had, and you have to try the Gumbo! Atmosphere is awesome! The servers were so helpful and took excellent care of our table. This restaurant is very busy on weekends, so come to relax and enjoy the food, you won't regret it. I love this place!

Lovely place to dine if only the service and food we’re a match for the atmosphere. Server was incompetent; he couldn’t get our order correct even after coming back to verify several times. We were also charged for items we didn’t order or receive. Truly a disappointing experience.

It was just the two of us. They gave us an out of the way table at our request. We had great service (although our waiter was young), and the food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Our server was excellent. Tenderloin stroganoff and salad nicoise were very good. My spinach salad was very salty. Apparently the hostess has to investigate these issues, she came over with our server and asked if we “wanted” the spinach taken off the bill. Since it was inedible I said yes. The encounter was abrupt and strange for an “upscale” bistro, where an automatic removal of the item would have been more appropriate.

I wish I could rate it higher. My food didn't come out until my family was completely done with their food. My wife's food was to salty to eat. Our server was trying to be the bartender also. If the price here wasn't so high, I could let some things slide. But the food here is priced for perfection. Our servers were very nice and helpful and did the best they could...which made this dinner bearable.

Can't say enough good things about this place. We brought over our friends who are visiting from out of town and they loved the food and service. Austin was so patient with us and was a wonderful server.
The food and service were both amazing!
