A visually cool place...but. the prices are stupid even for a specialty coffee shop and you don't even know how much things cost until you after you place the order. Nothing price wise is visible. If you go, be prepared to pay the Fairhope gouge cost.

First, the advantages that rank The Coffee Loft above others, to me anyway. This place opens earlier than the others (and when I count others, I do not include the national chains). When going to Fairhope, I bypass coffee shops to the north to go here. It is one of the very few places in lower Alabama with Kona coffee, serving it in three different Kona Mocha drinks. The old Satori Coffee House in Mobile and Atlanta Bread Company used to have that.
The drinks menu is packed with hot, cold, and frozen options in additional to seasonal ones. They definitely have intriguing names and the curious might not be disappointed when venturing beyond a usual order.
Food items are exceptional as well; one can get a hearty breakfast
in the form of a bagel or sandwich, along with what seem to be homemade muffins, banana bread and the like. Some shops are limited to muffins (one place in Mobile in particular simply picks them up from stores). I recently kicked the habit of sitting in a shop to pass time, so the lack of indoor seating does not bother me. The Coffee Loft gets a lot of traffic at peak morning times and the downside of seating is that people would sit there all day taking up parking spaces. (One aggravation with the parking is that people tend to park right by the street rather than go to the additional parking in the rear. Newcomers might miss the sign when visiting because of cars being parked in front of it.)
However, since the Coffee Loft is a couple of miles away from the prime downtown Fairhope area, it has its own parking lot with plenty of space.
This place has a lot of branded items from hats to stickers, and local arts and crafts for sale, and all of that combined with subtle, soft music make for a cool environment.

Super cute coffee place we found on our first trip to Fairhope. This town is a gem. Big drink menu and a few food items. You don't need a bunch if you do them well. Karla had a smoothie which was just right. I had a cold brew which was strong! We had some Brooklyn bagels; mine with ham, egg and cheese. Karla had the cream cheese with everything bagel. I'd recommend it all. Very friendly staff. All kinds of Knick knacks in the store. No indoor seating but nice front porch. We will be back.

Greeted when walked in door. Cozy atmosphere with interesting coffee flavors and many choices that I have never seen before.
The coffee was full of distinct rice flavor, wanted another after first cup.

Cool eclectic coffee shop. Will be back anytime I can! The ham egg and cheese on the everything bagel was delicious. Yogurt parfait, equally 👍 lovely. Snickerdoodle and kitchen sink coffees were CRAZY good! Great staff and friendly inclusive environment. The art and available gear are wonderful too.

Their coffee is consistently excellent, with a wide range of espresso drinks, cold brews, and creative seasonal specials. The baristas are friendly and skilled, taking genuine pride in their craft. Beyond the coffee, The Coffee Loft also offers a good selection of teas, smoothies, and baked goods, including local favorites that pair perfectly with a quiet morning or an afternoon pick-me-up.

One and done. First of all there are no tables or chairs inside, so anything you purchase, you have to take it with you. There is plenty of room for them, they just took them all out during COVID. and now they don't want any of them back because they don't want people lingering around taking up parking. A few tables outside are in the hot sun. What cafe has no tables to enjoy a meal and a beverage?!
Our drinks were ready with a reasonable speed, but the food took forever, while everyone is lingering around waiting for their orders.
So they have five people working, trying to save money by having no sitting room, and still taking forever to deliver. This place belongs in California, definitely not Alabama.
This was our first and last time visiting.

Great coffee bar a Fairhope classic. The business name is changing to Beth's coffee house or something like that not sure if the owner sold but it is still a great place

popped into The Coffee Loft in Fairhope expecting that classic coffeehouse vibe—y’know, grab a latte, sink into a cozy chair, and just unwind for a bit. The coffee itself? Solid.
But here’s the rub: seating is basically nonexistent unless you want to sweat it out on the outdoor patio in the Alabama heat.Inside, there’s tons of space, but it’s all dedicated to shelves of coffee beans, mugs, and branded swag. Feels like a mini retail shop more than a coffee shop. What happened to the days of sitting down with your coffee and lingering over a pastry? This spot prioritizes sales over sanctuary, which is a bummer if you’re not just passing through.
After growing up going to this shop for years and being continuously disappointed in how it has changed each time I visit fairhope, I can’t give my recommendation to this place anymore.
I spent countless afternoons in highschool sitting on the couches (now gone) doing my homework and chatting with friends over a bagel and coffee. It used to be such a comfortable and inviting place. The drinks used to be better. The food used to be more reasonable.
Every time I visit coffee loft again, I have nothing but hope that the indoor seating area makes a return. With the loss of most third spaces that aren’t bars in the post covid world, it feels like there are very minimal chances for people to chat and get to know each other. I know there is still outside seating here, but being so deep in the south, the weather doesn’t often allow for that to be a comfortable experience.
The music is too loud, the line structure is confusing, workers seem rushed, and the food and drinks have become super expensive. I don’t blame any employees for this as it seems to be on the management for creating such an environment. I just miss the old coffee loft, as many others have said in the reviews. Sure, it seems like a cute chill spot to out of towners, but it isn’t anything like it used to be. If and when this place gets it’s spark back, I’ll gladly change my mind.
