Such a cool spot to go eat! Probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in the Shoals with high quality flavors! I had the Bongo dip which was really good but I'd of preferred it to be spicy still really good, it had ground beef, onions, peppers and cilantro mixed in with their cheese dip. For my lunch plate I've heard about how good the Bongo platter is so I had to get it and was not disappointed all this food on a platter for only $13.99 is crazy cheap! It had chicken...
The food was decent, but there were several issues with our experience. There was a gnat in my water at the very beginning, then the queso dip was served cold and we had to ask for it to be reheated. The chicken fajitas and the fajita bowl were both good, but the chicken certainly wasn’t of the highest quality. My pico de gallo was not fresh - the fruits and peppers in it weren’t ripe. Overall, it was just an average experience.
Me and my wife and part of our family went to Bongo's the other night for the 1st time and they were super great all the way around food, service, atmosphere and important the price it was out of the ballpark great!!!!!
