This might just be The Best BBQ you will ever eat. The pool room slaw is incredible and you must try the slaw dogs. Their BBQ is, in my opinion, historic. If you are in The Shoals area it is a must have. Great service and very sweet family that owns it. A family owned restaurant since it's inception.

As someone who LOVES barbecue sauce, know that their pulled pork does not have any sauce. It is smoked so well and flavored perfectly, then it is covered with amazing hot coleslaw (like chow chow). This is by far one of the best barbecue sandwiches I’ve ever had. The folks here are super sweet.

Pretty pedestrian food. Ribs were almost like parboiled. No char or bark to speak of. The chicken was the best thing we ate. The slaw dog gets a mixed review. My wife loved it. I thought it was ok but nothing really special. The staff was really nice.

Let me start with if you haven't tried this place you don't know What you are missing, the whole smoked chicken I got there was probably the best I have ever had. There white sauce was amazing. And the potatoe salad is just wow 👨🍳 I loved that it's a family business and the young lady that took our order was very friendly. I live in athens and will definitely be making the drive back for there great bbq

Best BBQ and slaw I have EVER had!!! A new friend told me about Dick Howell’s BBQ, and I am so grateful he did. Fantastic food, generous portions and prices so low I wonder how they stay in business. A really low key restaurant where the food and friendly service speaks for itself. 4th generation family owned and operated. My husband and I both enjoyed the BBQ plate for around $6. We could hardly speak because we could not stop eating. I am going back to try the ribs, which I hear is one of their best sellers. Worth every star.
