Ate lunch there this past Saturday. Wasn't sure what to expect, but we pulled boats out there and what they were cooking smelled great. One of our group went in and got fried shrimp and after I saw his, I went in and got some.large quantity of large fried shrimp and they were "freshly battered" and not pre-battered frozen. VERY good.I will eat here again when were there.Cost was around $20 for the order, but the number of shrimp (maybe 12 or 14 large ) made it a good value.Definitely recommend

My salad was wilted and ruined and the oysters were so spicy with hot sauce that they were inedible. We won’t be back.

Me and my girlfriend were the first ones there for the evening and the chef brought us multiple samples just to be nice. Safe to say there wasn’t a thing we tried that we didn’t like. 10/10 service and was nice as could be. Will be back.

I have driven past this place at least 100 times and finally stopped. I had the combo catfish and frog legs. The food was good and the portions were huge! A little pricey but you get your money's worth.

Couldn't rate the food since we weren't there to eat. We were there to enjoy the "jam session " and "open mic " music on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4pm (though it usually lasts longer than that). They have the open air seating and eating area protected from the weather by plastic, with heaters for when it's cold and fans for when it's warm. Seating is rustic - benches, stools and picnic tables, but you won't find a nicer bunch of folks anywhere, and the entertainment is FREE! Next time, we plan to stay for supper! I can only say that the food SMELLS wonderful!

To be honest was disappointed in our meal. Have been to Shaffer’s in Summertiwn so wanted to give this place a try. My meal was 12oz Ribeye, Bake Potato and white beans. The bake potato wasn’t done, and I didn’t eat it. The white beans weren’t too bad but a distinguished taste to them I could put my finger on. Then there was the Ribeye, was cooked to perfection but, they use some kind of finishing bbq sauce that was NOT good. The wife had the same meal but had a side salad vs the beans. It was literally just a pile of lettuce on the same plate with steak and bake potatoe. Her sentiments were the same on the ribeye.

First time dinning at Shaffers and was pleased with the experience. Its a self service restaurant (order at the counter and pay, then pickup the food when ready.)We ordered a catfish fillet, cheeseburger, cheese pizza and 12oz ribeye.All of the food was good and tasty except my steak My steak did not have any seasoning from what I tasted but nothing salt and pepper couldn't fix. It was very juicy!!!!All of the plates had generous portions and pricing was not bad.Will definitely eat there again!

I have eaten there 3 times. Food is terrific. Jumbo gulf shrimp are great(fried). Peaceful outdoor river setting and atmosphere. Fried oysters are also good. Get the onion rings as a side, you will not regret. Dont go in with the expectations that you are at a 5 star restaurant and the thought that you need to be waited on hand and foot. Get your own drink from the cooler or the fountain and order and pay before you sit down. Just relax and enjoy. I would suggest a casual walk down the pier while you are waiting on your food. I would highly suggest.Parking: Parking lot is gravel at time of review. Parking is shared with boaters from time to time. Large parking area.
I had fried shrimp and catfish. It was delicious. For folks that like the marina and waterfront experience, this place is great. They also had about a dozen local musicians playing and singing. It was great.

Shaffers is known for BBQ and brisket. We met friends, some who hoped to get a brisket sandwich. But they were out of it. As far as seafood hubs had the shrimp and fries and said they were very good. I had fried oysters and slaw. Oysters tasted good but were on the greasy side. Also they were cooked in cornmeal and had a lot of batter. Slaw was really good. Overall good meal but I will probably do the shrimp next time.
