I live in northern Indiana. When visiting family here, The Shoals Shack is a must stop. The food is like a party in my mouth! Current favorite is the shrimp tacos. Today we added the onion rings and wow! Will have to make another run before traveling home.

The main point here is the food is 10/10! This is a cute little place. Carry out only. We spent a total of $30 for two people, got amazing food, fries, and large sweet teas. Considering I spent the same amount the last time we ate at Chick-fil-A, it's a fair price with excellent food. This is NOT a fast food place, so be patient while they're preparing all of your delicious food fresh. I got the Chicken Genoa sandwich and sweet potato fries. I rarely overeat, but it was so delicious I ate every bite of everything that I had. My husband got the steak sandwich, and wow! It was next level. He also ate every bite. They have all kinds of burgers, different sandwiches, soups, salads, and tacos (though their menu varies) and a weekly special plate ( the week we were there, the special with shrimp and grits). It's as if a five-star chef was running a food truck and selling burgers and sandwiches. The food is next level. Everyone kept telling me how good it was, and I just did not understand until I tried it myself. I would like to go back every week, lol.

If you don't stop here to eat you're missing the best food ever. If I'm not mistaken, it's been on al.com for top 25 best eats. Soups, sandwiches, steak, chicken, toufu and the OMG pecan bead pudding top the faves list for the menu. The service was absolutely impeccable. This establishment is a cook to order ,very busy, finger licking good, roadside must. I literally wanted to lick the container from my bread pudding pecan pie.

The food was superior, I'm a cook and I could tell that it was made with care and skill. My portion size was big enough that I was left full (but I probably could have had room for Bread Pudding too, kinda wish I'd tried it). The stuff you read about these folks is true; they're serving fantastic food in a roadside setting and doing a great job of it! I'll be going back for more!

The chicken Genoa sandwich is my new favorite! I inhaled half of it before I remembered to take a photo.
