The chips are nice and light. I had a fish taco with a fried shell and one with a plain shell and the plain shell one was much better. They were a little heavy with the slaw sauce, but I just scraped it off. I liked the tacos!

I've eaten here several times. The food and service are always good and consistent. One of the best things here is the chips and salsa. The chips are made fresh in-house and are warm and crisp. The portion sizes are adequate for the price. The service is quick and the place is always clean. It's worth checking out, especially for the chips!

Rookies....My husband and I tried it for the first time as a late Valentine's Day date.Definitely named appropriate!! If you don't like spicy, don't go. Pretty much everything has a variety of "kick".Maggie, our waitress, was awesome! She helped us with explaining something on the menu. She kept a check on us and made sure our drinks were filled. She was more than one person.... running her legs off.We really liked the food! Fresh, taste, and amount of food were all really good. The down side was it took a while to get our food. So if you don't have time to wait, I'd recommend ordering ahead. We couldn't quite figure out if it was "fast food" or restaurant style. They had a few TVs and a bar counter(which we don't do).Family friendly. Good location for us, Cloverdale Rd. Most of the staff was very welcoming.

Came here to get the same amazing tacos I get in Muscle Shoals, only they were ten times better here in Florence! Always amazing service and food but you pay for it!! Wish they were just a bit cheaper or had more meal deals, I’d eat here multiple times a week!

I was a little disappointed in the whole experience. I love Mexican food, but what I had, which was a chicken quesedia, and it was so greasy I didn't finish it. I was hoping for a better experience. The restaurant staff was friendly.

This store recently opened and didn't disappoint. The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. Very casual and laid back but didn't feel like a fast food atmosphere.

I waited a couple of weeks before trying Smokin Jalepeno. I know restaraunts take a little time to work out the kinks after opening and I feel like they have done a great job of it.Maggie was my server/ bartender, as I sat at the bar. She was warm, welcoming and attentive (not just to me, but to the couple who came in after me). Thanks Maggie!I had the La Fiesta Salad Bowl. It comes in a fried shell bowl with your choice of meat. Salads like this can suffer if the bowl isn't fresh or fried right, Smokin Jalapeno's was perfect! Also, they load the bowl with all the fixin's (Guacamole, cheese and sourcream) and dressing on the side (just be careful not to add too much dressing, it is easy to do.).I only have two suggestions: #1) The entrance door has a step up, which is not readily apparent and is awkward (I stumbled walking in and out :-( ). Really needs to be addressed, at the very least painted yellow or pointed out somehow. #2) The Point of Sale Machine (cash register) at the bar is right where someone is sitting at the bar and close to an exit. If you are sitting there as a customer, it is a little awkward to have the bartender constantly in front of you. Also, it doesn't seem too safe having the cash register that close to an exit (just saying). I would say, It looks like there are a couple of more convienent places to put the Point of Sale unit on the barback or the walk behind (just my opinion).Overall, I was very satisfied and gratified for a nice sitdown restraurant closer to home.See you soon Smokin Jalepeno

Worst food ever! Went to Cloverdale Road restaurant on New Years Eve at 9:15pm to dine inside. Server told us some beer was unavailable. We ordered entrees- chicken bowl, chicken tenders and vegetables nachos. Appetizers we ordered nachos asked for spicy sauce but not available. Cheese dip was watery and they gave a dip that was like old oil to dip chips! The bowl supposed to be made with chicken but no chicken. Told server she said on she must have forgot. The food didn’t look appetizing. Rice must have been cooked in the morning tasted stale and all stuck together. Chicken tenders were overcooked very brown in color and tasted burnt and very oily. Nachos was poor again with stale rice. What we ordered such as fresh and grilled jalapeños on bowl and nachos didn’t add had to ask for some.It seemed like the staff didn’t care about the customers and quality of food. Told server that the food is terrible and poor quality. She didn’t care and not even apologize. There was only four of us in the restaurant then later a couple came in. Each dish we ate only eat quarter of food. Wasted 75% of food due to lack of quality, taste and requested items. We wasted money and my friend even tipped them. Will never go to this restaurant. Need to listen to customers and take care of them.Vegetarian options: Do not go there to waste your valuable earned money. Go somewhere where quality and taste is important and they care about your business as a customer.

If you haven’t visited the Smokin’ Jalapeño on Cloverdale Road and you love Mexican food, you need to run as fast as you can! This place is amazing and everyone is so friendly!! We had the Chicken Quesadilla and Smoke Sho Burrito and they were delicious!! The cheese dip, salsa, and guacamole are the best!! We have also tried the breakfast and OMG!! Everything we tried was soooo yummy!!

The first time I went they hadn’t gotten their alcohol license yet, food was great even without the margaritas. I went back and they had a full bar, and the food was great. I highly recommend.
