YUMM THAI : SUSHI AND BEYOND

The upscale vibe of the place was on point and the server was friendly and attentive. So two stars for that. But the food...oof. I've been plant based for 14 years and have been to over a hundred Thai restaurants in innumerable cities. Most know how to *easily* (because it's easy) substitute fish sauce and other elements of a dish to make it vegan, because Thai cuisine is damn near vegan. Not this place. I assumed, given its upscale nature, that the chef knew how to do this. I got served bland rice with even blander vegetables and tofu. The vegetables were not well cooked nor well seasoned. The fried tofu was floppy. When I asked if they had vegan options, they should have said no. I would have happily bought a bag of chips at the grocery store and had a better dining experience.

It used to be our favorite date night restaurant for many years but something was drastically different on our recent visit. The food quality has dramatically changed…the portion sizes have decreased… the experienced bartenders are using novice jiggers…and the owner is absent. The highlight of our $200 evening were the fried oysters that used to be delicious but are now processed crap and caused us both to pull over on our drive home to toss our cookies. What was once the best has gone to the birds. So disappointing.

Some of the best sushi i’ve ever had! Came to Florence for a weekend getaway, this was mine and my husband’s favorite place to eat during our stay. No complaints, super delicious and downtown.

Delish Green Curry Chicken Thai with either brown or Jasmine rice. We also tried a bowl of the Thai Chicken coconut Soup. Both were wonderful.

The staff was friendly and delivered service with a smile. Food was served quickly.

Our date night dinner was delicious! I also absolutely loved the warm, modern atmosphere. There was a large party behind us when we were there, but we managed.

Not real Thai more of a fusion. Food wasn't what we expected. Our server was good. Although the rest of the staff was gathered closely to our table and one commented about our personal conversation. Very disappointed. They should advertise as a FUSION THAI not real Thai.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. The Siam curry was excellent! If you want it to be spicy, just ask for it. I asked for level 5 spicy, and it was perfect (super spicy!). The sushi, the fire cracker shrimp, the Bangkok fried rice, and the pad Thai was delicious. It’s expensive, but we highly recommend it! We loved everything we ordered.

Great food, but the upcharge of nearly 4 bucks for adding chicken to my dish was barely noticeable for the few pieces added. The Salmon sushi appetizer absolutely delicious!

We had dinner and drinks with friends after a workout class in downtown Florence. I had the cashew almond chicken and it was very flavorful with lots of options on the menu. I also had the lycee martini which was strong and delicious but didn’t taste a lot like lycee. Our waiter was very attentive and we overall had a great time. Wonderful spot for girls night, date night, or dinner with friends.

Nice staff and atmosphere, but the food was garbage. I rarely write reviews, but something was strange. I have eaten here many times, and I usually order the Thai basil chicken, but this time it tasted rotten or like one of the cooks put something distrusting into my meal. My guess is the later. I got some sushi instead and it was 5/10 (at best) and covered in sauce, but at least it wasn't rotten. I think one of the cooks added something with the intent of sabotaging my meal.
