The food was amazing, as we left the restaurant, we couldn"t stop talking about how we would definitely return. The combination of fantastic food, and great service, and inviting atmosphere made it a standout dinning experience. We even started planning our next visit, eager to try more dishes and share the experience with friends and family. If your looking for a place that offers quality food at an reasonable price, this restaurant is a must-visit!! Thank you Gift Horse Staff!!
We are going to make this a family tradition for Thanksgiving!!! It was the best Thanksgiving meal we've had in a restaurant in a long time. Delicious southern cooking, wonderful service, and nice-sized round tables for our family to sit around and converse. The staff truly cares about your experience.
The sweet potato casserole was superb as was the dressing and crab bisque and everything else. There is such an assortment of salads and desserts. We're already wanting to...read full review
Excellent value. How can someone complain about $25 per person which includes drink, desert, and a buffet with all fried fish and shrimp you wish? I ate lunch at a fast food hamburger place the other day. $15.85 for burger, fry, and drink and wasn't really good. Recognize value! Ambiance is perfect!

The Gift Horse Restaurant is a locally-owned establishment in Foley that has been a favorite among many for years. It is located in a historic building with antique decor and offers a delicious buffet. Customers appreciate the friendly staff and kid-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant features opera music and a dessert bar, but the selection can sometimes be limited, and the food on the buffet is not always hot, often tasting like canned food with minimal seasoning. The consistency of dishes like yams and apples in the apple cheese casserole is similar to canned varieties. The bread pudding has a soggy consistency and drips off the spoon. Parking is limited to a few street spots, and the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible unless customers alert the staff to unlock the ramp. Prices are considered somewhat expensive for the quality of food and service received. Despite some issues, many find it a great spot for lunch, especially noting the fried chicken, and enjoy the inviting atmosphere and good service. Customers often look forward to returning to try more dishes and share the experience with friends and family.
