This place is wonderful for families! Our four-year-old loves coming here because they let kids draw on the tables while you wait for your food, which is an awesome distraction.
Richard is an amazing cook and server, and the whole team has always treated us great during brunch. My wife’s favorite is the red velvet waffle, and you can’t beat the $5 mimosas.

Had a great lunch with my wife while shopping in Foley. She had grilled fish and I had a pulled pork sandwich and both were delicious!
This place is excellent!!! I had the chicken and waffles and they were perfect!! 😍 Also added conecuh sausage on the side because conecuh duh iykyk! Joe had the shrimp and grits and his exact words after tasting them was “oh yeah, that’s shrimp and grits done right!” I highly recommend!!!

Based on the reviews, The Gathering Place | Soul Food is an absolutely amazing restaurant with outstanding service and top notch food. The cooks and servers are so damn polite. The food is absolutely delicious, including the best cornbread in a long time, a breakfast bowl with potatoes, peppers, eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy and cheese, and a red velvet waffle. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful, with biscuits and gravy that are super filling. This place is wonderful for families, as they let kids draw on the tables. The atmosphere is nice, and they have a full liquid bar with $5 mimosas. While the service could have been a little friendlier one night, the food was very good. It is recommended for lunch and breakfast anytime.
