I’m not really picky person and don’t leave reviews very often at all, but tonight, I have made an exception. This is how bad my experience was tonight. First thing I had just came from church to go and here with a party of 14 (4 of which were 3 years or younger). We told them a split party was fine as long as we were in the same section. I will admit we did arrive at 7:50 pm on a Wednesday night, so I expected service to not be great. After waiting around till about 8:25 we finally got seated (they weren’t even busy for a wait that long), we waited till 8:35-8:45 before we got our drink orders taken. We waited forever on our food till after 9:30 and only then we got our food. The food itself was good but waiting that long on food with children is not awesome but whatever. Once we finally all got up and got ready to leave it was 9:50-10:00 and I, along my mother my 5 month old and a 1 year old. I told my to take the kids the car and I will pay, because they were very tired at this point and crying. Once I grabbed our stuff to leave I went to get into the vehicle and an intoxicated man approached me in the parking lot right as I was getting into my vehicle. He came to ask if I could help him find his keys because he was to drunk to drive home(props to him for that) we looked and could find his keys and I have had a very long day at this point so I ask him if he needs a ride instead. He says he does and while I’m calling him a something he says “nvm I have a ride”. I just want to say this moment speaks volumes to the bartending staff and managers on duty to allow customers to get so drunk they can’t drive, and to let them leave. I place I have ever worked or been to has ever allowed this and I almost positive this a big no no to the Alabama ABC board or even to the police for this matter. Overall I just think that these people are highly irresponsible and need to be reeducated on alcohol policies before some dies in a drunk driving incident.

The bread appetizer & salad were great. The entre was not. Overbaked & burnt baked sweet potato & the steak was tough & dry. I ordered med to med well but this piece of meat tasted like a leftover!

Rolls and cinnamon butter were phenomenal!Will, our waiter was exceptional. He went above and beyond in addition to making excellent on & off menu suggestions. Steak was a little overcooked, but good. Everything was good!Parking: Spacious parks and plenty of them.

Update: so I know you can’t review a place more than once. But my experience was so today was so amazing I had to update with another awesome server. Today we had the pleasure of being waited on by April and she did not miss a beat. She was friendly, quick, and made sure everyone at our table was happy with their meals. The food is always great but the staff is what keeps me coming back!The food and service at Santa Fe is always amazing but if you’re lucky enough to have Savanna as your server it will be 100 times. Better. She is quick, keeps your your drinks filled, your table clear, brings water while you wait for your adult drinks, and if you get lucky enough to have her twice she remembers your orders.

Fair Warning if you go to Santa Fe in Ft Payne please bring your Nair!!!! Got there just a few minutes after 7 and got seated very shortly after. Order drinks our food and ordered an appetizer and Will/ William the server says we are out of rolls only one pan left but I will try to get y’all some soon as they come up okay great! He brings us rolls and drinks and salads. Well about 25 minutes went by I ask for our appetizer he says surely it should be coming. Well during this time tables kept coming in and I was watching people that came in after us had big entrees like steaks and shrimp etc . So about 45 minutes went by and after me asking for it a few times our appetizer finally came! Very cold with hair cooked around the Southwest Eggrolls! About 25 minutes went on by and he brings our Entrees so I kindly ask for a manager when I see everyone’s plates was so cold not even warm at all and I’m looking at our plates waiting on manager and there is Hair again all in my sons plate cooked around his Texas Sausage on his Cowboy Combo, yes I’m boiling mad at this point ? Manager Adam Martin comes and says let me make it all fresh for you is that okay! Well kids are starving after sitting right at 2 hours with nothing to eat of course we want all fresh and hot food! After we got all fresh food we was just so scared to even eat afraid we would be chewing on a Hair ? I wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog! I’m sorry get y’all’s crew together! And we even heard others saying the same thing as we was walking to our table! We should have took their advice and left immediately! A total of 7 big tables eat and paid and left and we just got fresh food!I did pay for our food which was $40 which he/ manager give a discount because it was 60 something but in all reality I shouldn’t have gave a dime because that’s a little overboard on so much hair! Needless to say, We will never be back to Santa Fe in Ft. Payne!

I got the 14oz New York Strip. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The baked potato with it was piping hot. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of a couple of things. The salad was just average. The blue cheese dressing tasted bottled. It was average at best. We ordered cheese sticks as appetizers. They weren’t hot nor were the rolls. Both would’ve been excellent if they’d have been hot. On a positive note the service was excellent. I’ll certainly be visiting again.

There’s always a wait, & That usually means the food is good. We like to make stopping to eat at Santa Fe part of a day trip when we go to Georgia or to a waterfall. The steak being cooked correct to order depends on who is working the grill.
Great rolls. Got the ribeye sandwich this time which was great.
