My husband and I went for the first time tonight, and we fell in love. The atmosphere was really nice and it was very clean. We were greeted as we came in the door with a hello and a smile. The server was friendly, and answered our questions about the menu. We ordered a cup of gumbo and a cup of red beans and rice as our starter and they were amazing. Absolutely the best restaurant in Southside. The service is great. We went in and were greeted and served by Mimi! They should name the joint "Mimi's place" !!This is authentic Cajun cuisine at it's finest. Straight up good Cajun food here. I had gumbo that was excellent, and étouffée with a generous helping of crawfish. Can't fault either, good rich depth of flavor and not overwhelming spice. My companion had a burger with onion strings, both of which were really tasty. Couldn't pass on dessert. The beignets were not as good and fluffy as say Cafe du Monde, but good enough.
