Fort Morgan Ferry Landing Snack Bar offers a variety of food and drinks, including wraps, gyros, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, and more. Visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery and watch fishermen on the dock while waiting for the ferry. The ferry service is helpful in crossing the bay, but can sometimes have long wait times, especially during the off-season when only one boat is running. There have been instances of the boat breaking down and wait times reaching up to 90 minutes, but visitors can make the most of this time by visiting the nearby fort or gift shop.
The ferry itself is a scenic, historic ride that crosses Mobile Bay in about 40 minutes, passing by Fort Gaines and Fort Morgan, which guarded Mobile Bay during the Civil War. It can carry passengers and vehicles, including cars, trucks, RVs, and motorcycles. The ferry schedule varies with the seasons and daylight savings, and multiple ferries often operate back and forth. Visitors can ask questions on their Facebook page, where responses are quick and friendly.
Overall, a trip to Fort Morgan Ferry Landing Snack Bar provides an enjoyable experience with beautiful views, wildlife such as dolphins and seagulls, and the opportunity to explore historic sites. It’s a convenient and scenic way to experience the waterways across the mouth of Mobile Bay.
