Not great. The waitress didn’t check on us at all nor asking if we needed more coffee. And it’s not like they were busy, we were the only customers! The food was average. The avocado wasn’t even peeled and had brown spots! The collard greens were way too salty and peppery. The cup cake was dry and didn’t taste fresh. Salad and mac and cheese were ok. We were very hungry after our hike so we ate the food but we wouldn’t recommend this place.
Nice looking place. Ketchup container was empty told the lady working there and she said it would take awhile to change it. All she needed to do was take the bag out and put a new one in. It didn't get done while we where there. Got our food and the wife's food was cold on the inside. Had to take it to the counter and told lady behind the counter about it and the took it in back and brought it back out about 8 minutes later warmed up. My food was supposed to come with a side and didn't get that.

Great food but a little high, $8 for a small slice of cake was insane but the rest of their prices was on par for the location.

I have eaten at Woodside probably 25 times and the food is normally really good and the experience is positive. However, it was not that way yesterday. I had ordered an entree salad that was extremely small with hard as a rock hard avocado. The added protein, smoked chicken, was cut up into small chunks with too much fat! I realize that they changed their menu to include smoked meats, but they took away some of the beach classics. My husband said that he’s never going back, but Inthink they deserve one more chance.

Our visit to Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama was an unforgettable day from start to finish. We started the morning by renting e-bikes from a local company called Paradise Pedal LLC, and it could not have gone more smoothly. The owner was one of the kindest and most accommodating people we met on our trip. He helped us get set up with two great little carriages for our three-year-old and seven-year-old, gave us a wonderful deal, and even delivered the bikes right to us so we could start our ride at the park. That kind of personal touch really made the experience special.
The e-bikes were in perfect condition and a total blast to ride. The park itself has miles of smooth trails that wind through some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. We passed lakes, boardwalks, shaded paths, and open views that made every turn feel like a new photo opportunity. The kids had the best time riding in the carriages, and we all loved how easy the e-bikes made it to explore without wearing ourselves out. It was peaceful, fun, and such a unique way to take in everything the park has to offer.
After our ride, we stopped at Woodside Restaurant, which is located right inside the park, and it was the perfect ending to our adventure. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it has that relaxed Southern charm that makes you want to sit back and stay awhile. We ordered cheeseburgers for the kids, and I have to say they were some of the best cheeseburgers we have ever had anywhere along the Gulf Coast. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The kids devoured them. The housemade potato chips were another highlight — crispy, golden, and addictive. We honestly could have eaten a whole extra bowl just of those chips alone.
Everything about the experience at Woodside was top notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food came out quickly, and the quality was far beyond what you would expect for a park restaurant. It felt like a hidden gem tucked inside this gorgeous natural setting.
Between the scenic ride through Gulf State Park, the outstanding service from Paradise Pedal LLC, and the delicious meal at Woodside Restaurant, our day could not have been more perfect. If you are visiting Gulf Shores, I highly recommend doing exactly what we did — rent your e-bikes from Paradise Pedal LLC, explore the trails at Gulf State Park, and finish the day with cheeseburgers and chips at Woodside. You will not regret it.

Great place to park your e-bike, and grab a bite to eat. Friendly staff, and good variety of food. Shaded outdoor tables. Dog friendly outdoor dining area.

Overall, it's a great spot to grab a bite after a hike or bike ride. I ordered a Caesar salad, which tasted good, but was surprised to be charged $8 for a small piece of chicken—making the total around $20. That felt a bit steep. Also, it's unclear whether you're supposed to grab your own utensils and napkins or if the staff provides them. The outdoor seating area is really nice and adds to the experience.
