Best cuban sandwich in the area. I have been looking for a good authentic cuban sandwich since we moved to Huntsville, and this is the best place to get it. The picadillo empanadas are fresh with excellent flavor. I also had a "cafecito" (Strong cuban black coffee with sugar) while I was waiting for the food and I had to order another one to go because it was so good. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel like we were family. My wife and I will be back.
Update: The popularity of the Old Havana Cafe is growing as this place was packed. We met people from all over the area, even other states. Highly recommended to order by phone. Ordered the Guava and Cheese empanada this time, and finally, we found a place where you don't need to ask for a map to find the Guava in the empanada. Excellent balance of Guava and Cheese.

30 minutes from Huntsville. Friendly owners. I came in late, so I missed out on the pastries goods and empanadas. I had a Cuban sandwich and croquettes, and they were delicious. The café is stout and robust as typical Cuban coffee. For gluten allergy folks, they offer corn based meals like Venezuelan arepas and a few other things (call ahead for GF alternatives). It's a to-go place, so not much atmosphere, but you can enjoy your café ☕️ while you wait.

Take out service only. Great service! Everything we had was wonderful. Empanadas, both chicken and ground beef were perfect. Crispy on the outside and meat on the inside is slow cooked and has incredible flavor. Just driving thru town to stop at the Kroger gas station across the street and saw the review. Don't be scared off but the parking lot that is falling apart at the entrance. This place has authentic quality food. We will be back next time we are in town to try the sandwiches.
