11/03/25 at around 1:30. Mixed review, we had two very different meals. Her's was the chicken mole and it was a generous portion and delicious. Mine was the pazole and it was a big dissapointment. I am a big eater and ordered the large portion. It came in a very large bowl and consisted of a thin broth that wasn't to my taste but I don't like cilantro and that was the main flavor. The dissapointing part was that I got (maybe) half a cup of food. There were a few small cubes of gray colored meat, a few onions and some canned hominy. The bowl still looked full when I had eaten all of the solids. The service was great, it was a nice space.

Homewood El Barrio has the same great menu and service as the 2nd Ave spot! 🤩 The Homewood location even has parking, which is a huge plus. 🅿️ You might still have to wait for a table, but trust me, the food is totally worth it. 🤤 They have amazing vegetarian options like plantain nachos, jackfruit tacos, and chili relleno. 🌮🌶️ And definitely ask for their homemade salsa trio! 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Don't forget the Tiramisu with the twist.

Why does the downtown location have a 25% discount for disabled veterans but the homewood location only 10%?

The Homewood El Barrio location has an attractive and inviting ambiance. The staff are all very welcoming. I ordered the veggie quesadilla- my food was well-prepared, tasted great and the portions were generous. My server, Whitney R. was friendly, efficient and customer service focused.

Not sure if it's trying to be Mexican Cuisine. Not sure if it's trying to be Tex-Mex cuisine. An abomination to both. Chips and salsa were decent. Servers were nice. Parking was fair. Everything food-wise misses the mark completely. More worried about plate appearance over the substance and flavor.

The flavors of the foods we ordered were fantastic. Hubby had the trout and I had chicken enchiladas with both sauses. We also had a bowl of black bean dip and salsa with chips. They do charge for the these but will refill the salsa and it is not expensive. As in even the entrees are nicely priced and large. My two enchiladas (the smaller size-as you can order large or small) was plenty. And the grilled vegetables were perfect! Our server was helpful and attentive. My entree could have been warmer but it tasted so good I didn’t want to send it back to reheat. Margaritas good too. Some tables are a bit too close together and those same ones under too bright lighting. It is next to an arcade so kids do come. Parking was not easy but we arrived at 5:30 and got lucky. Would go again for sure. We split dessert which was tres leche and that was too sweet for me. Did not need the added caramel.

Go for the steak, not the mexican food. Pozole is under cooked, chile relleno was sweet (not in a good way) and hard, should be roasted.
